Toyota Extended Warranty

Just picked up a new Corolla S for my wife that we ordered. She had her last car 18 years so I was thinking about the Toyota Extended Warranty. The dealer said he would sell it to me for his price. It is the Platinum 7year 100,000 mile with 0 Deductable for $720.00. Is this a good price?

Great Deal!!

That is a good price. I just purchased a 6 year/75,000 mile toyota warranty for $700. So yours had to be at dealer cost.

That's a good price, roughly $102/year over the 7 year extension. As we all know, even the simplest repair can exceed a hundred bucks. Forget about the dealer cost talk. They usually lie about those things or fail to tell you about the premiums (kickbacks?) that insurance companies and financing institutions throw in on these extended warranty deals.

Unfortunatley, Toyota doesn't offer their own plans in my state, I had to go "aftermarket"

WOW, Mine was a lot more, but not from Toyota, I also got theft protection, they pay deductible in case of theft plus $1500, window serial # etching, and something else I can't remember right now, and The body and wheels protection, where they will professionally touch up(they have a toyota certified collision center in house) any scratch, and fix any ding, for the 6 years or 100K miles, and replace a wheel and/or tire if it becomes bent or damage, all of that has no deductable. Extended Warranty repairs carry a 100 deductible, but The warranty is prorated(after 60 days of "start date") and refundable at any time during the warranty period: For example, if I don't use any of the warranty and cancel in the first 60 days, I get a full refund for it. He told me he had a customer with a prius that paid like 4000 for the warranty, a $6300 in hybrid parts went bad, he paid the $100
deductible, and then canceled his warranty and got a refund of 3600

I usually tend to believe that these extended warranties are a waste. I can't understand why dealers try to shove them down your throat if they aren't making a decent profit on them.

However, at $700, if it covers a decent amount of what could go wrong, that sounds like a decent deal as long as you plan to own the car the duration of the warranty.

that's a good price. I bought one from Toyota of Greenfield, MA. They are fantastic. of course, some are going to say waste of money. I wish I would've had an extended warranty when my wife's a/c went out in the 2004 CR-V, and I had to fork out $1200 for repair.
