Things that ANNOY me on the Corolla and what I plan to do

1. Stupid SunVISOR!

Rant: I hate this stupid piece of $hit! I swear to god. Could it have been made ANY smaller? Does it even block sun on the side? NO! IT doesnt! From the front it's "OK" at best...but from the side..MyGod why did they even let it pivot?

Solution: There is a little flap that seems to serve no purpose..maybe hold CD's. So I plan to create a thin board that you can put under the flap and have it held there. When the sun is shining you can move the board to block it and just move the board back when the sun is gone.

RESULTS: Not completed

2. God damn rattles on the rear window near the tabs!

Rant: GOD DAMN those rattles on the REAR WINDOW!

Solution: Hot GLue the Damn Tabs! HOT GLUE, then HOT GLUE AGAIN

RESULTS: IT WORKED! EUREKA!

3. Rattling of the rear deck

Rant: Since my subs are SOOO insane, my rear deck has gone CRAZY! It rattles against the rear window and it annoys me so much!

Solution: Tuck Something into the back. Some kind of foam that will prevent the rear deck from knocking on the window

RESULTS: Not Completed

4. Location of the damn Intake Nozzle

Rant: WTF Toyota?! Why you facing it toward the fender???????????????

Solution: Relocate to the bottom of the front bumper with it facing outwards behind the "grill"

RESULTS: Not completed

5. Interior Lights (DOME LIGHT)

Rant: OKay, can it be ANY whimpier? PLEASE make it whimpier. This light sux (PERIOD)

SOlution: As soon as I get some time I will fabricate a light that will fit in the housing and will be 10000000X better then the factory one. It will be so bright it will light up the whole interior

RESULTS: This will be a separate thread and a project that I plan to do. Not Completed

This is it for now! I will keep you updated. Let me know if you guys have any other problems and any fixes that might work for you that you have tried. Or if you have tried any of these fixes!

My only complaint (besides the clock, which I can't see anyway with the wheel telescoped and the seat all the way down, and of course the visors, which I didn't even know I hated until I read this): I hate the entire center console, from the top of the dash all the way down to the seat back. There's like 3 cubic feet of space wasted by hollow plastic, for no reason. There's no place to sit anything, and the buttons are spaced out all over the dashboard (6" tall stereo and 4" for climate control) when they could be fit into a much smaller space to make more room for other things, or even nothing (empty space). I don't like the little arm-rest box, and the cup holders with that hair clip in-between are no good either. What a horribly designed console.
Plan: make an entirely new console from scrap parts, as soon as i get a crap-load of spare time.

will you really build a new console? I mean it isnt that bad. There is a little pocket to put stuf at the bottom. The buttons are not clustered all over the place. The radio can be changed (get a single din aftermarket headunit and there is your new pocket). For the clip in the centerof the cup holders, just take it out. It gives you alot more space. The arm rest is pretty deep and anythign you cant store in there you can put into the glove box or above it in that little storage compartment.

I think he's just playing with you... I say do all the work required if it makes you happy. Personally I like the Mazda3's interior but I like the Corolla's exterior better. Kind of a trade off if you ask me. Also I think that little flap on the dingy sun visor is for extra papers and notes ect. but your plan sounds like a better use for that little plastic flap.

Just drive the car...What do you expect for under 19,000. Hopefully you did not give like 25,000 (XRS). For that price you could something much nicer

DO IT! I really wanna see pics of how this turned out. And take pics of the whole process so we (mostly I) can learn how it's done.

I might try doing that one myself. Sun gets in my eyes pretty consistently from the side and a nice slide out would really work. I'll post pics once I make it.
