Honestly i think these people who make reviews are insane bias when it comes to the corolla car. http://cars.about.com/b/2008/02/11/q...orolla-xrs.htm or this laughable review http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKr5R6JLqk8 . Toyota has done a great job with the new rolla in all trims. The new XRS is a crazy fun car to drive to work that is good on gas that u know is quality made and will last forever. I mean come on the honda looks like a freaking saturn from the 90's with that god awful buck rogers dash. Every time i see one both my wife and i laugh at them as they look so bruttle. These people who are making reviews are dinosaurs who are living in the past thinking a rolla is a grocery getter for a mid 40's wife. They need to have a open mind for once before taking the new rolla for a spin next time. Its like they have already made up there mind about the car before they even have taken it for a spin.
Most ppl don't believe me when I tell them my XRS gets from 0-60 mph less than a second slower then the Dodge Charger with the 5.7 liter HEMI and more than 3 seconds faster than the V6 charger. I know that's a weird comparison to make but the point is people really dont believe it. they see the Charger, and even if it is the 3.5 liter "High output" (or the 2.7 for that matter) they think "Its a Charger, must be fast" and they see my car and think "its a Toyota, that guys is probably borrowing it from his grandmother"
simple ignorance fostered by an increasingly dumbed down modern American society. Oh well screw the reviews, if they weren't so biased, id be seeing XRS drivers everywhere. I like having one of the few in my area. One of the main reasons i didn't buy the civic SI was the thought of constantly seeing myself driving by on my way to wherever
I completely agree with both of you. It's a shame that the Corolla is so underrated, unappreciated and overlooked.
I'm with you guys! The bias against the Corolla is unreal!

The part that really is stupid is the guys who say u can get more car for the money. That is the dumbest thing ever written. I work with a guy with 600k on his 2000 rolla as he has a 3 hour road trip to work every day. 300k is not uncommon at all when it comes to this car. Seriously when it comes to quality, reliability safety and fun(XRS model) the rolla has it in spades. It looks like a mini camry ffs and we all agree that new camry is awsome. I would like to challenge any of those clowns to find a another car that can do that for 20k.
Thats true, the more I drive my XRS the less I can believe how little I paid for it. It has all the features of a Camry XLE in a sportier and IMO neater and better looking package, all for less than the price of the base model Camry. And since I went into the dealership with the intention of buying the 4banger camry anyway, the XRS was like a steal for me lol
I cant believe this!!! A positive thread about the Corolla started and no negative comments yet!!!
No one calling us 'fanboys'
The XRS was called the fun model, no negative coments...
I know! I know!! Lets call the XRS 'sporty' or 'fast' that will get them going!!!
Or how about The Corolla is better than the Mazda 3 & Civic combined!!, Oh boy here come the haters now

I agree that the Corolla is better than the Mazda by leaps and bounds, but I think the Corolla / Civic comparison is more a matter of choice. I would MUCH rather get a Civic EX than a Corolla S (or any of the 1.8 liter 'rolla models) given the choice, and the Civic SI is without a doubt an impressive machine to say the least. I'd say any one who buys Toyota, Honda, or Nissan are probably the ones getting the most quality for their money, while the worst would have to be Mazda(ford), GM, or Dodge(Chrysler) buyers

Stat wise and all honda makes great cars but ugh that civic has been hit by the ugly stick exterior wise. Interior wise that knight rider, buck rogers dash is tacky as hell. My last big 3 car is a grand am with 143k kms that was totally worn out. Hows that for pethetic. You would think that the big 3 would finally get it and stop building junk but every company has to have there niche i guess.
There's always a bias against a popular car, and really I wasn't surprised to read negative reviews on the corolla. I personally hated the older corollas so why I bought one now was purely for how it looks. 2009 was an improvement, comfortable to sit in, and the accelerator isn't too peppy or too sluggish for my taste. The whole idea that the Corolla is a 40 year old woman's car is pretty old. Saw a merry maid corolla drive by and actually laughed. I think the 2009 Corolla is marketed to a younger audience, but the reviews really fail to see it since they judge it all on past experiences.

I was in the Toyota Buyback program for the Tacoma's. They gave me a Camry XLE as a free rental. The process took about a month and a half.
I was set on getting a Camry SE. For me, the SE would have been nice to have, but I usually drive around alone. I didn't really need a new big car. Plus their was a huge incentive for buying a new Toyota. For any vehicle I I a 500.00 rebate. I was not a big fan of the Corolla until I saw the XRS. The first thing I thought was that it was a little Camry. I just loved the resdesigned Corolla. Alot of the reviews I read almost steered me away from getting one. When they told me the price, I was shocked.Out the door, it was 20,900 for the XRS. I am a proud owner of a XRS!
