2010 Corollas, Camrys, and Matrix to arrive in February. Price increase.
I heard that the 2010 Corollas, Camries, and Matrix will arrive in February 2009. Could it be because the Canadian prices were dropped quite a bit for 2009, and with small changes increase the prices of the 2010 cars?
Our Canadian dollar is taking a beating, and lost about 20% of it's value, so I hope the prices won't go up. Last year, as our dollar was high, the price came down, so if we apply the same logic, the prices should go up.
Where did you hear that the 2010's would come out in February. Someone else posted this a month ago, and now that this topic is coming up again, there seems to be some truth in it...
XRS will not see a new engine for some time - especially not one that is targeted for RAV and Camry. That's the bread-n-butter line so why the heck cannibalize that for Corolla? That would be utter business and financial stupidity.
Rest assured that our XRS assets are secure to be depreciated by our own means or abuse.

i would argue that corollas qualify as bread-n-butter as well.
so whats 'quite some time'? the 2AZ is finished and kentucky can make 500,000 engines a year. i know not all of them are going to be 2ARs but putting them in xrs, tc, and even xbs would hardly cannibalize anything.
the v6 in the camry and RAV4 makes them hotrods, surely toyota sees the merits in more power for the lesser models. especially since they are trying to lose the rep toyotas have as passionless transportation appliances.
Those who wanted to buy a Corolla, might want to buy a Yaris instead....lol
hey, anyone remember this old song? sing along if you do.....
