Just thinking of racing my 1.8 L makes me giggle. I don't think I'll be buying very much from TRD, unless that is they can drastically improve my hp or something.

I was thinking of getting a Cold Air Intake from TRD or somewhere else. Is the 5-10 extra horsepower noticeable? If not I don't see much point in it.

Yeah it should be noticeable and your engine will be louder.

Now I'm starting to wonder--is there any more engine modifications available for the '09 1.8L? Will there ever be? Now I know it's not a racing engine but the selection out there is pretty pathetic and the car has been on the market for several months now.

The corolla 1.8 is NOT a racing engine. Save your money or get an XRS instead. Theres gonna be a few mods out there for it, but not too much. Watch the Scion XD/XB cars as they have many mods already although compatibility is not always guaranteed.

Well it is debatable whether the 2.4L is a racing engine too... I have one, but so does my neighbor who drives a Camry...

But... the Scion tC apparently has the same engine... so maybe it is... maybe it isn't... either way it isn't a VVTL-i *sigh* that lift would be fun when peaking, so would the extra RPM

go and throw another couple grand into the 1.8 engine, but really, if ur gonna spend alot of money on the 1.8 engine, you should've gotten an xrs.

The XRS is faster off the lot than all the mods you can shove into the 1.8 litre engine. By the time you shove the mods in there, its lost its fuel efficiency and everything will be out of whack, stressing some of the weaker engine components.

Do what i am doing, save your money, be content, wait for the new celica from subaru. lol
