USA XM Aftermarket

Hey Guys/Girls this is my first OP so bare with me please.

I just purchased my first new car a 2009 Corolla S 5spd, and I love it I'm not goingback to Ford or GM ever again.

So when i asked how much the XM was they came back with $590 or some other creative number in the same ballpark.

I don't want to have a seperate XM unit when the car is already wired for it.

Any ideas? Aftermarket Parts, like audiovox?

Audiovox sucks. Consider Alpine. Never is a long time.

Will the Alpine work with the factory stereo?

You must check compatibility of any after market accessory before you buy.

Alpine stereo or speakers? What type of aftermarket part are you talking about?

Your car is XM ready, I believe most dealers charge $600 to install the interface and tuner. These two parts typically run close to $300, the other half you are wasting on expensive labor.

The antena on top of your car is for XM satelite, simple modification can allow it to be used for Sirius.

It really just depends if you are looking to change the head unit or not as to which route you go.

I'm looking to use the OEM setup for satellite radio. I understand that the unit from the dealer goes in the trunk, and plugs into one harness. I was wondering if anyone knew if an aftermarket item existed that will use the factory set up. To avoid paying 300 for the unit from Toyota or if anyone knew the part number for the factory unit so i can try to seek it elsewhere....maybe somewhere it "fell off" the truck?? lol

The 2 parts needed run about $245 from Sparks and someone posted it was a 20-30 min install.
