Probably not... the 2009 tC didn't get it... so once the tC gets it then maybe the XRS might get it... until then expect to see the 2.4L until 11th Gen
My bet is production of the 2.4 has already ceased, or is very close to it, and 'yota is using up current supplies of the 2.4 in the 'rolla and Scion. Makes no sense to continue the building the 2.4 another 5-6 years (until the 11th gen comes out) when the 2.5 is ready to go.

Well I hope they dont come out with it tooo soon.. or I will be losing a BUNDLE on my trade in
I wouldn't get hopes up either way on the 2.5 in the XRS for 2010. I'd bet on a tuned 2.4 or 1.8 before the 2.5 in the 2010 or 2011...
Look how long it took them to put the 2.4 in the XRS... they only put trusted and reliable engines in the corollas. Wait for 11th gen for the 2.5L. until then they may do a "TRD" version of the XRS to hold people off until the next gen with some tuning
People make money off cars everyday. We call these people "Dealers."
Besides, if people didn't make money on cars, there wouldn't be cars at all. Duh hello
I didn't realize that in my post I had to be explain that I was referencing from an owners stand point, where the owner would be selling/trading their car. You just never know what needs to be explained to some people() and I guess that is my duh, sorry.
These days dealers and car makers are making money hand over fist......that's why they step off their private jets in D.C. with a tin cup in hand wanting more of your (the tax payer's) money for their top notch business decision making that hasn't worked/made money.

Dealerships must be making money.. how else do you account for the fact that they have employees?
Also, lot of owners buy cars at auctions or elsewhere and turn around and sell them for a profit. Others buy old cars, rebuild and refurbish them, and then sell them for HUGE profit. There are many other examples
A bit different point of view and not having much to do with it, but car thieves also make a lot of dough and so do chop shops
