Any TSB work for corolla yet?

I have a 2007 camry that had the TSB-0068-08 5/21/08 ECM Calibration:Enhancement to Shifting Performance, Smoothness done. And honestly that TSB is really needed because it changed the way my car accelerates and drives.

My dad just bought a LE corolla and he felt the acceleration was sluggish and wanted me to check for any tsb's. I told him he bought a corolla LE and he shouldn't be expecting crazy performances like the Sports package haha.

I searched and heard few people mention tsbs but no official tsb threads.... any help would be great. thanks. I read someone talking about a tsb for oil consumption? any tsbs for shifting?

Nope. And you're right - a 1.8L Corolla will not come close to performance of a Camry.

Unfortunately they don't do stickies for TSBs on this forum. For some reason you have to use the search and do quite a bit of reading to get the information you are looking for. Doesn't make much sense either as you see the same types of posts again and again.

Here is a link to the known TSB for oil consumption issue, which is the only one I can remember.
Attention all 1.8L (2ZR-FE) owners

I guess "Post pics of your Corolla" are more important than "Hey, here are some potential problems with your car"

Just FYI to everyone, My dad isn't making the comparison with my camry in performance. Our family currently owns 4 different generations of corollas in our family starting wtih 1980 haha.

He feels it's sluggish compared to previous generation as nabeel has noticed.

Yep, I haven't checked it against our '99 Corolla, but it's probably less than the 09, but more than the 03.

Something else, when I leave to work in the morning, it's cold but the car is more sluggish than when I leave from work for home (I mean the entire drive, weird).

The 2k-3k range is "slower", when accelerating I'm always the slower guy, whereas in my 03 it'd be pretty peppy.

I've only had it for about a month with 1500 miles, maybe it just needs more time. It's gotten better, steering seemed to "break in" as well. Who knows. I'll check with my dealer.

I'm sure if someone took some time to gather all the TSB and technical posts into one post, some mod would put it up as a sticky. For a while there joeygarcia was doing that kind of thing but he seems to have vanished?

FWIW I haven't seem much mod intervention in here, but hey it's great entertainment to read all the bickering and name calling isn't it!?

happy thanksgiving everyone!

Is it a recall?????

#5 i work for toyota so i cant really tell you where you can print it. i got this from the toyota info network from my work. this isnt a recall, its a bulletin which means it applys to you only if it happens to you so that means no letter of notice from toyota. of course you can just say it happens and get an update. this is of course covered under warrenty (it IS an 09 :P )

This a post in the oil consumption thread.

Why not? Our '09 'rolla XLE has a hp-to-Weight ratio of 1 hp to 21.30 lbs and a '09 Camry XLE 2.4L has a ratio of 1 to 21.34.

I wanna see a Corolla do a 0-60 time in 6.5 sec then.

Camry 6cyl is 6.5s
Camry 4cyl is 8.8s
Corolla S 4cyl is 9.1s

Power-weight has very limited meaning (at best it's a nice way for insurance companies to sucker us in to paying more $$).
