so i woke up late for class today and rushed to my car, started it and the first thing i notice is that my driver side mirror is basically facing the sky, weird...i didn't adjust it this high. i brushed it off and fixed it and just when i was pulling out i heard a huge CRACK! i walked out of my car to see what i ran over and i found the driver's side mirror cover cracked after running it over.
so i first cussed myself for not realizing that the freakin cover was gone to begin with, and then cussed again that i ran over the cover...anyway after some thinking someone must've popped off the cover and placed it under my wheels as some stupid joke...i can't think of any other possibilities...
so how easy is it to pop these covers off the 09 rollas? i tried popping it off from the passenger side and it seems pretty hard...i inspected the car to look for any damages and seems like there aren't any damages...what you guys think?
I don't think you'll go to HELL for this. But if there's no damage to the rest of the mirror, you can always try "I was driving and the cover fell off and got run over by a car routine". It won't hurt or cost you anything to try this little white lie.

Think insurance fraud if you are contemplating "a little white lie" as the basis for filing a claim with your carrier. As for filing a warranty claim, I'll leave you to your own devices. Although, if the thing just fell off, I would think a warranty claim might be in order.

Insurance claim was never my intent. I was thinking more along the lines of a warranty repair. Whether it fell off while parked or driving is irrelevant, but claiming the latter would probably make it by the dealer service department.
somebody probably knocked into it. i looked at the mirror closer and it seems that there is a scratch when you bend the mirror forward. looks like a scratch of some sort, nothing too big. just replaced the cover yesterday, $48 bucks.
out of curiosity, I was able to remove the mirror cover quite easily. All I needed to do was to grab the cover and it pulled straight out. It is just hold by a couple of plastic friction clips. I am considering putting some glue to prevent them from falling off so easily

I would suggest you silicone it in place, I use to have a car with a piece if trim that would slip and anly be held on on one side, so I put some silicone on the back of it and this stopped it from slipping and both ends were clipping on where it was suppose to. My car is silver, so white silicone will not show as much as if it were dark blue or black.
