When you pop the trunk with the keyfob, how much does it pop up?
When I pop the trunk with my key fob, the trunk only pops up avout a 1/4 in. When the car is on a slope and I open the trunk the lid sometimes falls down. I suspect that the springs are weak. How much does your trunk pop up when you press the button on the key fob?

I wouldn't know it was open if I didn't hear the long beep... it doesn't look open when i do it.
I would think having the trunk lid unlatch but stay down is just right......that way a strong wind won't catch it and throw it open before you get to it and if it should be raining.....well that's self explanatory.

It just pops enough to relieve the pressure the seals are under when it's closed. I like it that way, like djb383 noted, I don't want it flying open and hitting the stops. I've seen rear windows get taken out that way. (Not on a Corolla though)
Mine doesn't open that much either. I actually have to take my Corolla in for service on the trunk release and maybe even the fuel door release. The manual trunk release doesn't work and sometimes the fuel door doesn't open either.

Just a few inches so it is easy to grab and open the rest of the way. Happy about that since it gets very windy here.
I had a problem with my gas door release where it would not open at all when I took delivery. There is a tab inside that was bent a little out of position. 1st car I have had that had no manual gas door release in the trunk....Poor thinking! Things get stuck from time to time
When me and my sis test drove one, it would only open very little too. I prefer this. As stated, I don't want stuff getting wet in rain. Plus, think if you have your laptop in there (I do this at malls so it's not in the open), and someone sees you pop that thing open from 20 feet away. That's enough time to say "Bye, Mackenzie (my computer)". I'll stick to the barely open stuff. The rental we have now barely opens, sister's former car barely opened, and from what I remember, all the cars we've had are like that.

My car has less body roll than I do.
When you want sports car handling, you buy a sports car.
Maybe there is nothing wrong with my Corolla, it is suppose to be like that. The trunk only pops open when you are next to it and not 20 feet away, I think they do not allow long distace pop ups so that you will not accidently open the trun as you are walking away.
P.S. Cate, How do you get the unique charactors on your signature line?
My trunk does not open up very much either and you can hardly see that it is up. I would like to adjust the spring so it pops up completly. It could be handy when you have busy hands with grocery bags etc.
