Hello
I just bought a Corolla 09 this morning!
But I noticed several negative points:
-No vanity mirrors
-No light in glove box
-EPS or electronic poor steering (I asked them twice if it was EPS in Middle East and they said NO...what a bunch of liers)
-No external temperature(Middle East version)
-Poor audio system
-A scratch on the back
Paid 22000$ for just an engine?????
I was imagining the Toyota salesman saying ''hey dude you should thanks us for adding seats and a wheel to your engine''
And your point is? My question is simple: Did you test drive and check it out before you plunked down your money? The scratch is obvioulsy a defect that the dealer must correct. But the other stuff sounds like the car just does not meet your expectations. Good luck in convincing the dealr to take it back.
No test drive, but even if I made one I wouldn't have seek for a light in the glove box and vanity mirrors as they are not things I think about when test driving but when I have a personal drive like today.I mean we are in 2009 and it's soooo basic to have those things that you don't even ask,I can't beleive they are ''options'' that's all
I dont understand your argument! all theses things you should off noticed before buying... if you didnt like them then you shouldnt of gotten the car , simple as that!
no sympathy from me. Always do thorough research on a car before buying it. Go to the dealer numerous times to look at it before you jump any guns. Buyer's fault here. Also, why didn't you check the body for damage before leaving the lot? If you show the dealer before you drive off the lot then they can fix that. But the second you leave the LOT how can the dealer know you or someone at some parking lot didn't cause that.
so you just went out and bought a new car without researching or without thoroughly checking out the car first? and not even a test drive???? wow i don't know anyone that does that and definitely not a smart thing lol you live and learn i guess. i (and any normal car buyers) researched and test drove many many cars in its segment for many months before finding the right one for me...so i know what i'm getting. yah pretty much common sense =/

I have been a little strong with my previous comments,I like this car and I will keep it,but I was upset because of the scratch and yes I have told them about it before taking it,they tried to use polish but without success, then they added on the mecanic paper that on the first oil change (1000km) they will fix it for free.
They lied to me saying that the steeering was not EPS and that upset me too!

EPS is not bad. Maybe different. It's sensitive, light and pleasant to use when you get use to it.
You bought a lower end car that has a good reputation for reliability. If it does not have a vanity mirror or a light in the glove compartment, I am sure Lexus will be glad to sell you a car that has these things. For the price you paid you are getting much more than you have ever been able to get before. It is a safe car with front side and curtain airbags. I personaly like the electric steering, in the furture all cars will have electric steering. Just as carburators have all disappeared and been replaced with fuel injection, electric steering will be the norm one day for all cars. It is your responsibility to know what you are buying before you sing on the dotted line.

Look the bright side, at least you don't have the rattles all over the dashboard, electric problems like I do
