2009 Corolla S SQL Build log

Ok guys here is my build log I am working on my deadening project for now I am hoping to do the headliner next weekend. Dont wry about the box of subs or duct tape on the box its just a temp setup until I get My Jbl w15gti's Currently using Jbl w12gti's in the car pics. My Current project is going to be very expensive so it will take me a while to finish it all. I would love to tell you guys what All I am putting in but it is a secret so you guys will have to stay tuned in. The only Issue I am really seeing is the alternator so I might need 2 alternators if high output is not available. We Will see here is my pics for now.

http://s462.photobucket.com/albums/q...albumview=grid

Note I still have not done my Big 3 yet due to I am not sure if 0 gauge will fit where I am planning on doing it so I might have to do 2 (4) gauges to equal 0 gauge. grounding. As Soon as I know what will Work I will do it followed by posting pics on a diy on a separate thread.

1. God damn that must cost alot. How much did you pay for a roll of dynamat and how many sq. ft?
2. What is the expandable foam for? more rattle prevention? Where do you buy it, what is the foam called, and how much does it cost? I know some good spots to use it in.
3. When you do the "Big 3" please make sure to include the type of wire used and the mounting locations.
4. Did you do the bottom of the rear deck from inside the trunk?

Thanks man keep up the good work. Might have more questions for you later.

1. Each bulk pack is 36 sq feet. So far I have bought 4 bulk packs I am using the 4th bulk pack on the headliner I am going to see if 2 layer will fit but not sure wont know till tomorrow. I have been buying my dynamat extreme on amazon or you can buy it on ebay for about the same price maybe save a few bucks but here is my link for the bulk pack.
http://www.amazon.com/Dynamat-10455-...9494228&sr=8-1
It comes to about $135-$140 a bulk pack.
I get mine from dependable resource there the cheapest.

2. I used the expanding foam for the rattles I was hearing some where I couldn't isolate it so I put foam in the c-pillars all the way down to the trunk where the air vent flaps are in the trunk took those out and put dynamat extreme there then fill it with the expanding foam called (GREAT STUFF ) YOU CAN BUY IT AT WALMART FOR ABOUR $4.50 A can as you can see with the pics. Putting in the expanding foam has really made the road noise down I have used 28 cans of expanding foam to get it to be the way I wanted it to be I then has to wait for it to cure took forever like a total of a week since it was so thick on top of each other. But then I shaved down What I didn't need so I will be able to put the carpet back in there. I have not made a mess except for the foam on the seat belt which I will take off soon.

3. I will be using knukonceptz Kolossus fleks cable Not sure though as said if I can fit 4 gauge or 0 gauge where I do it I have not even began to look at locations yet. But I will be sure to post pics when I get to it which will be soon I am enjoying my deadening project to keep the car quiet.

4. Yes I did do the bottom of the rear deck inside the trunk I took the speakers out of the rear deck I am planning on putting 2 (15's) in the place of the 6x9 location and running a Infinite Baffle (IB) setup. Did you need pics of the bottom rear deck?

1. so you telling me you spent 4x $135-140? Why not go with raamMat? They beat out dynamat in those annual competitions and are relitively cheaper. Just a suggestion.

2. I will have to check it out..because I know there are some spots that need to be filled badly.

3. That wire is awesome. Maybe I can help you with some locations? I used to be on a maxima forum..and though I cant really look in the engine cause i am so damn busy..i can give you a link to where they did the "big 3" on the maxima forum a while back.

4. Are you mounting them to the bottom of the rear deck (with bolts running from the top? Or you actually mounting them IN the rear deck like from the top (like the 6x9)? Wont you need to reinforce it from the back and also put a baffle from the top? Also will you be creating a new rear deck cover...assuming that you can actually fit everything...would you need the top to be "open" and not really hindered by the rear deck cover?

1. I have used raamMat and it is not as good as dynamat extreme I have ruined a few pair of clothes because it was so sticky and messy and my gf was pissed cause it got on all here clothes as well. The thickness is not as big either. I have had no stain issure with my dynamat extreme. I heard the only thing really better is second skin damplifer pro but I am happy with dynamat extreme and I dont usalluy change somthing I am alrdy happy with. How ever I will be testing out some damplifer pro soon but here is a link I want you to check out.

http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/

explains about different deadener and comparisions.

2. Yes I know I filled every spot I could find There is no more holes in my trunk area I made damn sure of it!

3. I would be interested in looking at the link and seeing how they did theres. I was base planning mine off the scion xb/toyota echo/scion xa big 3 they did. See I have a 2003 toyota echo also and I was going to try and do it the same way just have not got around to it yet you know.

4. I am getting my dealer to do that work I dont want to mess with it.

Not sure how much they are charging me why do you ask is this suppose to be a cheap thing to do? And the amp is a secret for now. I have no idea how to build boxes or Ib so He is my dealer and does me good and I plan on getting everything done at once my false floor with my amps hidden my security system , radar dector, tint, tuning. I am going to be spending close to 15k on everything when I am done then I will start on my interior then exterior.

IB shouldnt be a big thing.. but fabricating a baffle into the rear deck is a b!tch. I would suggest getting some MDF cutting the wood to fit the rear deck, making the holes bigger in the rear deck with a dremel, putting the MDF over the rear deck, and mounting the sub from the bottom of the deck (like in the trunk). I mean you could save yourself ALOT ALOT ALOT. But if you want it done by someone else (which i can understand and in some cases would rather do) then just go for it man. Personally, I would make it my own duty to put the sub into the rear deck and save myself a crap load..tuning and stuff...i would do myself as well. building a false floor and hidding stuff I would leave to other people. But its all you man. If you have the time..do it yourself..if you have the money..pay to get it done. These are just suggestions.

damn..well do what ya gotta do. The "if something goes wrong they have it covered" part is right on...definitely a PLUS. Dud you should just download the video to fileshare or something, host it on the website, and just post the link so people can download it and see it. Instead of spending all your time breaking it up into bits and hosting it on here..Will that work out?

Well I didn't know where to go and put the video at the upload says its at 90% right now I believe ppl should be able to right click and save file that way to save the videos. I plan on putting a link up as soon as this is done when you see it lmk what you think of it. It shouldn't be much longer now.
