Alrite i bought this car in 7/17/08 ok and the 1st problems i was having with the car is the fuel door. dosent open.. ughh what at drag.. next thing.. the interior back panel by the window where ur speakers sit. there is a 3rd brake light that the xrs do not use cuz of the spoiler.. we have the brake light on the spoiler. soo that came apart and was making the worst noise when i even had the radio at 15 vol.. UGH!! got that replaced (Warranty) next thing.. the drivers passanger window is having problems when i roll it down it sounds like it is coming off the track.. and now my high beams dont work.. and also the brakes are a little grabby soundin like its cutting the rottor i saw em but they look fine. ( i dunno wuts up with that) i am starting to think this car is a LEMON.. big time and i am just gonna trade it in for a lexus like i should of gotten in the 1st place..

now i went 2 the dealer and they were gonna charge me 50USD just to inspect it 2 see if the stuff i told em was under warranty.. OMG wat if it isent thats 150USD. i just bought this car.. i am soo mad.. anyone kno the warranty like heka good.. and tell me if this stuff is under warranty soo i can just bring it in.. and tell them wuts up...

BS on that dealer

definately see another dealer that's BS. the gas door problem was on my car too....either the lock tab in the door is bent out of position...probably....or the release cable is fubared (unlikely)

caught the bent tab on my XLS when they tried to fill it the first time.....and no emergency release cable in the trunk either

Why everyone who has problems say that they should have bought some other car? should we open up a thread "I shoud have bought..." ? (personaly I wouldn't even look into that thread haha) Seriously.. why tell us that you wanted to by Lexus? if you really wanted to go ahead! return and buy your Lexus! If you really like the car and want to fix it/have it, just skip the car you were considering and tell us what's the problem!

"If you wanna shoot.. shoot.. don't talk!" /the GOOD the BAD and the UGLY/

definitely your car is still under warranty. read you warranty manual. no dealer should charge you any amount for inspection regarding anything that is wrong with it.

Some guys just like to complain how crappy their cars are so they can bring attention to themselves. This winter I sold my old winter tires that do not fit on my Corolla. The girl that called me to buy the tires sent her brother that came in his( 5 or 6 years old ) AUDI 6 series, when I asked him if he wanted some tire bags for the tires, he said ohh no, its OK this is my winter beater car! I went to get the other winter tires for him. I hit my garage electric door button and his eyes bugged out when he saw the three pointed star inside. Pardon me, would you have any grey pupon?

Well, my S isn't falling apart, but I just lost a piece of it today (which kind of infuriates me). I was removing snow off the side windows when my ''scrapper'' hit the key entry panel, taking it off. The contact wasn't that hard, and I was surprised just how easily that little piece came out. Hope it's not expensive to replace.

in my opinion it's just another sign that much of this talk about toyota reliability more myth then reality.

My grand am has run fine for 8 years now, and it's that infamous 2000 model that is supposed to have a lot of problems, but all the problems I do have are mostly of my own doing.

People who do have intake gasket problems probably let their car overheat, as it is known to overheat and that overheating thing is a simple fix. My power steering is beginning to squeal in cold weather but that's my fault for using the original fluid for 8 years without changing.

They never tell you to flush your brake or power steering fluid... they only care about your car lasting through it's warranty, after that they don't care, but these things should be done every so often.. of course with EPS, the whole fluid thing is gone now anyways.

I'm just saying... most car problems are people getting suckered by dealers for repair work that isn't needed outside warranty, or just not doing the proper maintenance. I hear good and bad car stories about all the models, toyota and domestic.

The main reason for domestic problems is new models all the time, thus new sets of engineering problems that take a year to get ironed out. If people are smart they won't buy first model year refresh on any vehicle.

You have 6 dealers in your area. I am a Toyota Service Manager and I suggest you go to another dealer... unless you aren't telling us the whole story. What you are telling us here is a serious offense to Toyota unless they are claiming that you caused the problem. At any rate the Toyota warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials...
