Center Console Lid with Tray?

With the S, I received a center console lid with no tray (2 part lid). Does anyone know if the 2 part lid with tray will fit? I can't imagine the center console storage assembly is different between the standard, S, and XRS models but since I haven't even looked at anything but the S I'm not sure.

If it will fit, does anyone know the part number or where I could purchase this (aside from the dealer)?

FYI... I went ahead and ordered the 2 part lid for my center console and it fit perfectly. The center console assembly is apparently standard across all 09 models.

Of course my dealer tried to get me to pay $20 extra to have them install it... $20 for 2 screws and about 15 seconds of work didn't seem worth it to me.

Isn't the sliding lid only for the Canadian LE model (American XLE model) only?

As such, wouldn't that particular part only come in beige or whatever the interior colour is?

It's for the LE, and S/XRS models with leather interior.

It doesn't matter which 09 Corolla model you have (from what I'm told) as the center console assembly itself is the same across all models, foreign and domestic.

It costs $100.99 US before tax. I ordered it straight from my Toyota dealer so I'm sure you can find it cheaper from an aftermarket parts dealer.

Here are some pics:

Sorry about the dirty center console I have 2 dogs and 2 cats so it's difficult to keep the interior of my car clean all the time. I do clean about once a week... I've been sick the last week though. LOL

The lid itself looks a little lighter than the rest of the interior but that's because of the camera flash. You'll notice in the 4th picture the flash makes the seats look just as gray as the lid but they do match regardless. I'm sure you can order this in beige too.

I love having a 2 part lid but I will admit the sliding feature is not all it's cracked up to be. In fact it can be quite annoying at times as it slides very easily and if you wish to have 2 bottles in your cup holders, you cannot slide the tray forward without hitting the bottle nearest the lid.

I do like the paper clip option directly underneath the lid though... this is the first time I've had this feature but it's quite handy if you wish to keep some cash in the car or important papers hidden but within easy reach.

NOTE: Some advice on installation... install the lid in the closed position. I almost thought (for a brief second) that it didn't fit because I tried to install it in the "open" position so I could easily access the screw holes. There's a lip directly under the hinge that fits nicely into the center console while closed, then when you open the lid this lip catches the inside of the center console so you can easily access the screw holes without worrying about the lid falling off while you secure it in place. hahaha Of course this is probably common sense to most people but I was a little excited and over zealous as is what normally happens when I have a power tool in my hand. I guess it's a good thing I don't own a tool belt!

Thanks for the thorough write up Krakajap. My dealership wanted to charge me 150 USD for the console tray. I will end up waiting until I can justify the cost of a $150 dollar tray. Probably a week before I go crazy knowing that I don't have one in my yotarolla S!

That lid is padded right? That is the one thing that bothers me on a long-ish drive is my right elbow wants the same treatment the left one gets.

I wonder where where one could find aftermarket lids ? I wouldn't even care if it was a sliding version, the dual tray is cool though.

The other annoying thing is that when the lid is slid forward it gets in the way releasing the parking brake, since it's nearly on top of the button. But it also gives me a place to put my right elbow.

I use the tray under the lid to store the cables for plugging my iPod into the cigarette lighter socket and the auxiliary stereo input.

Yes the lid is padded... not very much but it does have some padding to it.

And I never use my parking break but I can definitely see how that could get annoying. I'm considering taking the lid apart to see if I can't make the sliding tracks tighter. It doesn't slide forward on its own but it's loose enough that when I put my elbow on it and then reach for my water, if I don't pick my elbow up completely, the tray will slide forward all the way before I get to my water.

BTW, I've been searching for an aftermarket parts store for this lid but haven't had much luck. Some local parts dealers have been able to find it in their computers but their prices are the same as Toyota's. If I do find one online though I'll definitely post it here. It's amazing how much of a difference they make. It was driving me crazy not having one. lol
