Canada Rain-X

Does any one use this product on their Corolla?

My windshield fluid light just came on this morning, so I'll have to fill it back up sometime this weekend...

I've been told Rain-X is a great product, specifically this one in the winter: http://www.rainx.com/Products/Windsh...g_Remover.aspx

Thoughts?

Washer fluid is washer fluid... as long as it is rated for -40'C its good enough. I use an Ice Scrapper for ice/snow... and washer fluid to clear the salt/dirt from tire spray/kick up.

I use rain-x washer fluid, it works great for rain but in the snow/ice/slush it's just like any other washer fluid.

I plan to apply the rain-x window treatment, I almost bought it yesterday but realized it has to be above 4degrees celcius for it to work so I'll wait until spring, here's the treatment I'm talking about:
http://www.rainx.com/Products/Windsh.../Original.aspx

I think it works better as you wipe it into the window compared to washer fluid that is just sprayed and glided on top. It's like wax for your windows.

thats what I use on my windows, car wax. it you use that, it will give the glass a smooth finish just like your paint and the water just beads off and goes away just like it does when u wax the paint.

I actually found putting wax on my windshield is very troublesome. It eventually messes with your wipers and leaves streaks.

Never tried Wax on the windows, but rain-x really does a good job at what it should do.

Rain-X is a great product.

I have been using it for thirty years.

I use it on the side, rear and moon roof. I don't really like in on the windshield because if you do decide to use the wipers it makes them jump.

I had a 1970 Dodge Polara that had a bad wind shield wiper motor. I had the car for three years and never used the wipers. Just used Rain-X

The wipe on Rain-X is good on the side and back windows. but it does not last long on the front windsheild. What I do is to wipe th front windows down with some 50/50 water and degreaser. This takes away all the oily film on the windows and takes care of the window streaking problem.

+1. After the deer accident I had to replace the reservoir and fluid, I sprung for the "fancy stuff" and am glad I spent a few bucks extra.

So, you spent a few bucks after hitting a buck.

I wax my windows...Rain-X likes to make the wipers jump. All the windows get a good coat of wax and what a difference it makes!

Rainx is great and all, but nothing beats a good set of wipers. The rainx blades or trico neo-forms are awesome! Of course factory blades have become much better over the years. In fact my 09 S has factory blades still on... I tried the rainx blades for a week but they are really tall in comparison to the factory's; the factory's being form fitted and sleek and they seem to work just as good. I'm storing the rainx for when I need new ones.

Normally wipers with brackets don't fair well with snow and ice but these have done surprisingly well so far. It's too bad the factory blades don't come in a color keyed option LOL

Anyway, my point is that wiper blades are going to age whether you use them or not so why not just use them and don't worry about spending money on chemicals for your windshield. I'm not convinced yet that rainx will prolong the life of blades by less frequent use. I've gone a couple years using just rainx and still had to replace the blades (cheap blades) as if I had used them all the time. In the last 3 years I haven't used any rainx at all and I'm still on the same set of blades (rainx blades on my tc).

It is pretty cool, however, watching the rain just bead up and fly off your windshield.
