Not just the glove box but around the floor console itself especially around the passenger side.

Hahaha

theres no vent holes for the glove box is there? If not, the cold air gets trapped in there and lingers around longer as the rest of your car warms up. Its good for keeping your beverages cold eh? ;-)

And, dont you guys turn on your flooring heat function on that dial?

Logical explanation.

Could it be that the ducts are routed just behind the upper glove box? Hot air rises to the top of the passenger compartment and cold air stays at the bottom. I have a laser temperture gauge, and I will take some temperature reading to see what is happening.

Colder or warmer around the glove box? The fan for the HVAC is also located there.

I am talking IN the glove box...and its much cooler...almost like it has very small radiant air ducting but I can't feel a breeze coming in. You close the box and I can't feel it leaking out either.

You guys don't have it here but there is this Nissan small SUV called X-Trail and it's got cup holders on the central console that blow A/C when you use A/C. That was a cool idea..

Do you normally drive with your glove compartment open? If not...then whats the problem if you close it and it doesnt leak out

From time to time I reach in there while driving to get notepad or napkin whatever...just happened to notice the chilled condition of the contents. It doesn't bother me, just wondered if mine was unique in this aspect.

Mystery solved.

The outside air intake is near the lower glove box, I drove with the air setting on recirculate all day today and the glove box did not get cold.
