I’m kinda more to classic interior look, so I would like to replace faceless plastic panels on my Corolla’s central console with the wood trim bezels from XLE model.
Yes, I know, of cores it is not a real wood, but anyway it looks better to me than plastic panels I have on my S model. I would prefer to go with the original Corolla XLE wood trim bezels.
I was wondering if anyone here already done so on your non-XLE models. And if yes, how much did it cost you?
Thanks Bluefire, but I meant Toyota’s OEM wood trim bezels (or panels, whatever you name it) for Corolla (for XLE model I guess).
I saw such self-adhesive panels in some other cars and I was not impressed of their quality. Looks cheap and you can easily notice that they are not a real panels.
It may not be 'real' wood but from my wood working experience, it takes mega hours to apply multple finish coats and lots of sanding/buffing/polishing those coats on real wood to get the XLE interior wood trim "look". Have you checked the parts dept at your dealer?

I’m doubtful it so. Industrially, it takes much less complicated process of making those plastic bezels to be look like a “wood”. Otherwise your XLE will cost you the same money as for an Avalon.

Not yet, but I'm planning to do so.

$430 for small pieces of plastic covered with the film of wood-like texture and finished over with the lacquer or polyurethane? Wow.. that is rip off

That was my whole point......that plastic can be made quickly and at low cost but it will emulate the 'hand rubbed' look of real wood. To get that look on real wood would take many hours of labor to achieve. The fact that the dealer charges such an exorbitant price for cheap plastic is ridiculous but that's the way they are.

Price is OK for whole set, but there are no much details on that kit. I’m not sure, but something on their picture is telling me this is the same self-adhesive application kit. I’ll email them my questions. Thank you, sinnaever
