When's your best time of year to buy a new car?

I would never buy a new car from November to March, because it's winter, full of snow and so dirty.

March April is pot hole time, so I'm not interested getting a new car and driving in these monster holes, nor in snow storms.

From May through September is ideal time for me.

Atleast I can enjoy my new car a few months in ideal conditions, before exposing it to the harshness of winter...

If a new model comes out only in September, I'll wait for the new model rather than buy a car in the spring, that will be one year old in no time.

I would say the best time is when its most affordable.

I guess I don't understand, since our winters are nothing in comparison, but its a machine. I drive 30-35,000mi a year so I grow little attachment to it, as it will become dented, dinged, and scratched. Then again, I don't sell cars that I buy new, I'd rather get the full investment and drive it to its full life.

my wife and i started our search for a new car in January 2008. we test drove a lot of car brands and ended up deciding on a 2009 corolla. we received our blue streak metallic S auto on the 1st week of May 2008. and we enjoyed it ever since.

Probably August if I had to guess. Toyota used to do April "Red Tag" sales but they seem to have red tags every month now.

We've bought cars in May, June, Sept, Oct and Nov so it makes no difference to us. I prefer to break-in it in the winter because the poorer mileage will be masked by the colder temps and you're most likely going to school/work so you don't need to worry about the break-in stuff like sticking below 50mph.

Buy in December.

They should be desperate for a sale with everyone else buying Christmas presents.

I bought my 2009 in Feb 2009. May 2008 would have been better:

When I go to sell mine in 6-9 years my 2009 ad will sit beside Joeylgarcia's 2009 and the buyer will compare the mileage. So, maybe I got mine for $500-$1000 less. Joey had his for a full year longer and he will probably get the same price as me when selling.

the last day of an end-of-the month weekend, especially if it's a big-ticket holiday weekend.
