Since this is the first year of production, I noticed there aren't alot of performance parts for the car yet...at least not something that I am looking for. A supercharger for the new 1.8 engine. Hopefully TRD will come out with one soon.
So I am focusing on look right now. I am just wondering will the DRL affect HID kit on this car? Do I need a relay to run HID? on my mazda protege, the DRL cause the HID to flick, so I have to turn them on all the time...and burn a few of the ballast. So is it worthy to do on the corolla? And for lowering springs, do I need to replace the shock as well....coz on some car, lowering springs will kill the life of the shock.
I don't think TRD will make a supercharger for the 1.8l, but I could be wrong. As far as HIDs go *ducks*, you'll find that they aren't too popular here. Unless mounted correctly, aren't any ridiculous color, etc. you're best off not messing with them. If you still want them, and are concerned about your DRLs, see this:
Now, lowering springs. If you get the TRD springs, you'll be fine. They're designed to work with the stock shocks. I'll be picking up some in the not to distant future.

when I was getting my 5000 mile service yesterday I asked about the springs. they were like $280. anyone have any idea what it would cost approx to have them installed at a toyota dealer?

depends on the dealer. don't count on it being a bargain though.

an aftermarket cold air intake and performance headers with a catback are cheap and would make for noticably better performance, and better fuel economy.
Plus a short-shifter and a lightweight flywheel will reduce shif times and improve wheel horsepower, so start with a small stuff first before bringing out the big guns like a supercharger.

the hid will not effect the drl's at all because the hid is not part of drl. Here are some pics of my 5k mccullough hid headlights and fog lights. as long as you hook them up properly and GET A QUALITY KIT. You will have 0 issues.the hid kit runs only 35w low beam single kit!! Enjoy
