This is for all the members who own Corollas in Alpine White.
Do you find the paint chips too easily? Or any other issues for that matter?
I'm looking at leasing a 10' Corolla XRS in Alpine White but a friend of mine, who works at Toyota in Cambridge, Ontario, informed me that this particular colour isn't as good as the rest. Apparently there's a mono-coat with no clear-coat, unless it's a White Peal colour, like on the Lexus.
Most paints are single coat IIRC except for the premium white paints (e.g. Diamond White Pearl or Blizzard Pearl).
Also just based on the naming process of Toyota, it appears that if there isn't a suffix (e.g. metallic, pearl, mica) to the colour name, there's no clearcoat.
e.g. black, alpine white, natural white

my opinion on that is that clear coat will make pure white or alpine white paint look yellowish and not white-white. clear coats are yellowish in color.
I have the alpine white and it is chipped all over the front end. I do not tailgate but we gravel the roads in here PDX and this winter has been pretty snowy/icey for us. not sure if it's worse then the other colors but it pisses me off that's for sure
alpine white? is that the US super white? if so, there is a clear coat on it, as my front bumper has clear coat spots that has been chipped off but the paint is fine.
Ive got an 09 Alpine White XRS and I can tell you for sure it's got clear coat on the paint. Personally I've got a few chips in the front fender, nothing on the hood yet and Ive had the car for about a year, just coming up on 22k km.
I dont find that it shows chips any more than any other colour, but then again you can't compare with silver or champagne. Personally I believe that it all comes down to the roads you drive on and your following habits. If you keep your distance and avoid construction zones you'll be fine. Don't even bother with gravel roads, that'll just kill your front end and underbody haha.
My front end is all chipped up, so far i have 18k miles in about 6 months. I need to get it repainted, the paint seems pretty weak chips eeasily. Need to get a clear bra after repainting.
