I have a 2009 Corolla S. I got a local audio dealer to install some subs and an amplifier in my car. He asked what my common listening choices were for music and made a recommendation.
I had him put in two 12" Memphis
PR subs and a Memphis
PR amplifier. Total cost along with labor and parts was around $700 with tax. Told me to come back in a week and he would tune it up to allow for the speakers to have a break in period.
I wanted to know what anyone thinks about this setup. I have the JBL audio system upgrade option. I gave the guy a little more trust than I probably should have as far as following his recommendations. I'm not sure if I should expect it to be at it's best since he wants me to come back for tuning. Not being to familiar with car audio installation
I can't really be sure. I've been in a Toyota Matrix with stock radio and an amp/sub I can't name. And when it played it was like euphoria from the pressure. Now I'm not sure if this has to do with the fact that the matrix is a hatchback or just the quality of the sub/amp. I don't believe that this amp/sub were very high end.
Not a big forum poster so please forgive my bad form. But the part numbers of my amp/subs are as follows:
2x Memphis
PR 15-PR12D4 12"
1x Memphis
PR 16-PR2.75
Placed them in a Memphis enclosure and mounted the amp on the back of the Rear right passenger fold-down seat. Thanks for any input or comments.
