I personally love sunroofs, but hate sunroof rattles even more.
So for those of you with sunroofs, can you please tell me does your sunroof rattle? In winter? In extreme hot situations?
If they do I'd rather pass and live with a rattle-free car.
Had a '96 LE w/electric moonroof and I now own an '09 S and both of their roofs were, are tight as a drum. No rattles, leaks or any other annoying little problem whatsoever !!
Not always - but sometimes at highway speeds, when there's mist in the air, it sounds like a fast ticking or gurgling sound in the sunroof (like someone being choked). Solution is to close the cover and it's gone.
Likely the drains drawing water away...but sometimes annoying.
most rattles are caused by having the glass closed but the sun shade open... its just the shade bouncing around. (there isn't an extended track for the shade)
Dealer can't fix it... if it rattles with both the Shade & Glass closed then you got a problem
i love my moonroof!!! i just hope the rubber on the outside will last for the life time of the car. i had a friend who had a nissan maxima and the moonroof rubber wore out and started leaking water if it rained. lol
i'd like to bump this up.. i am currently experiencing a really loud squeek coming from the moonroof when it is open. it's almost as if the wind is rattling something around. if i open it full, more than auto-open, it gets worse. when closed half way, it is gone. anyone else experience this?
Nothing like that. When I first got my car, I heard a rattle that I thought came from the moon roof when I went over a bump. Heard it again a few days later. Nearly a week's gone by and haven't heard it since.
Never noticed any noise from the sunroof... for those that do that's why man invented the radio, turn it up
