Underbody damage

Hello everyone,

So it has been snowing in the northern virginia area all day and night. I left this morning after wiping off my car. The snow was about the same height as the clearance of my 2009 Corolla. I could hear the bottom of my car plowing through the snow. Luckily it was soft so I dont think I did any damage to the bottom of my car but I wanted to ask what kind of damage can occur if snow is scraping the bottom of your car. I will say, the snow was very very soft because it was all new snow. It hasnt had a chance to ice over. Do you think i messed up the car

I'm in VA also, and this morning i was surprised by the amount of snow we got. Basically i also noticed that the snow was soft and the car drove on it smoothly. You will do more damage to the car by driving on gravel and other unpaved surfaces than snow. As you know, rocks will chip away paint, scratch the body, and even get thrown up into the engine bay. Blocks of ice are obviously a different story. Just be careful and try to follow the path made by other cars using your best judgment.

Stay safe.

Snow won't hurt it....or nobody up north would have a car...we'd all have high clearance trucks! Now, if the snow would obscure that big ass curb or other concrete obstruction....then you're Fk'd.

I'm in North VA too but didn't drive today. Just tried once again turning off the seatbelt buzzer.. how about salt problem? we asked Koons dealer and they said they don't do salt protection and that there is no need in it because here it doesn't snow much. Our car was bought in AZ and has no protection

Yeah, you're screwed as far as weather protection goes. Granted, we have the monsoons, but that lasts like five months maximum. Horrid storms, but nothing more than wind, rain, and dirt come of it.
