I was in for an oil change today and the 2010's were being unloaded. VSC and TC are standard across the board except for the CE's which are part of the enhanced convenience package. $700 price increase over 2009 Ce with Enhanced. I got talking to a salesman and he offered me 12500 for my 09 CE with 12000 km. I pretty much laughed in his face. He wouldn't budge on that figure either. I told him 14000 and I upgrade to a 2010 and they wouldn't. I guess sales there are good.

If you waited another 2 years you might still get the $12,500 for your Corolla. Your biggest hit is in the first year. Corollas are the best seller at Toyota, and one of the best sellers on the market. I can only guess that the 2 other best sellers that would come close is the Honda Civic and the Ford f-150 pick up.
We just started building them this week, so Im surprised that they have hit the dealers so soon. Anyways, no major changes except for the above mentioned VSC/TC. No new colours yet either.
I test drove a brand new 2010 XRS today... it's pretty much the exact same as the '09. Well, except for the leather/heated seats option, but I'm not sure if it's worth the money.

It certainly is not worth it if you already have an 09 Corolla. Anyone that is looking to trade in an 09 for a 2010 has more money than brains.

Haha, no, of course it's not worth it. I haven't actually bought any car yet, just saying in case anyone might be debating an '09 vs. a 2010, since the dealers are lowering prices to push '09's off the lot.

Do you think you could have a word with my dealer so I could get a better price on the '09 I've got my eye on or it's over for a Mazda 3.
the truth is VSC/TC is nice to have with the car. But with a front wheel drive car, not much of a help and with the interference by it while you decided to have a little quick drive on the road, I am sure alot of people will turn it off. If you think you are going to trade your 09 for the 10, I rather use the money to buy myself some nice rims and coilover. That's only me, no offense

So, if you know there are no real differences other than adding a number to "2009". How/why were you in a conversation about "upgrading"?
