09 prices

went to the closest toyota dealership today in the houston area. looked at a corolla LE, pwr locks windows, alloy wheels, window tint. 0% for 36 months. drive out price started at 22,500 with the 7yr warranty and 8% state sales tax. no trade in.

called my mom, she said she could get us a better deal at a diff dealership close to where she lives, across town. they called in the manager and he offered 18,500 0% before tax title etc.

he didnt say it but seems like they manager threw in the 2000 rebate along with the 0% interest.

should we have taken that offer or check out the other dealerships in Houston? the salesman said they only had 2 of the gray with beige interiors in the LE and didnt have any gray w/ gray interiors which my wife wanted. i just checked the inventory of two of the dealers near my mom's place and one has 1 in stock and the other has 2 in stock.

thanks for any input

I just picked up my first Corolla for what I thought was a pretty good deal. We got a 2009 Corolla S, with one of the mid level "Power" packages that included the spoiler, alloy wheels, power everything, 6 CD Changer with 6 speakers, moonroof, etc. We added on the rear bumper protector and the iPod integration kit. The MSRP was officially somewhere just over 21K if I remember right, and we got it for 17,200 out the door. In addition, we finangled a better interest rate than Toyota was offering as their "special deal" for the month.

which Houston dealer did u go to? i got mine at Don McGill for 18,000 tax included drive out price. 1.9% financing for 5 years. thing is, i got mine in March of 2008, not 2009. 18,000 now is a HUGE ripoff. i have the LE trim with pwr locks, tinted windows, and the stock enkei rims

don mcgill over at katy, it had the 5 spoke enkei rims. might have been 18,500 with tax. but we didnt like the bisque interior and the rims werent all that nice looking.

should we get the 7 year extended warranty for $2000?

my moms last 2 camrys didnt have any major repairs nor did my two hondas, just general maintenance.

if its the 2010 then maybe that's a reasonable price. if its 2009, then it should be closer to 14-16K because they're trying to get rid of the '09's for the 2010's. always haggle and negotiate pricing to the lowest. the extended warranty isnt really worth it because corollas are very reliable and comes with a factory warranty of 6 year 60,000 miles powertrain. my friend got his 2009 XLE for $16,800 December 2008 at Sterling McCall. no rims tho.

any rims? trac control? tinted windows?

i think u should have waited for the 2010, because if i was able to get my 2009 in march of 2008 for 18,000 flat, you can get the 2010, which comes standard with traction control, for 18K or so.
