So you can sleep better at night...

Just to help some of you sleeping better at night I can tell you that all listed rattle in the present post can and have been solved. I had a rental from the dealer for one week but they managed to do the work.

Rattle in the dash, making toc toc over bumps, is a clamp in the center of the dashboard under the windshield. There is a TSB on this ask your delear they have this in their internal system.

When you drive over bumps and and hear a rattle in the seat, its also normal as the bolts on the driver side seat are too long and need to be cut. There is also a TSB on this; also in their internal system.

As have read on the forum there is also guys having issue with a flapping sound at high speed under the car (around 60 mph). I had this one too. I received my car tonight and everything is solved. I did not meet my tech at the dealership but I will call them to keep you informed to help the one having the same issue. I will post again on this particular point.

As for the roof rattle removing the healiner and putting insulation pad as made the trick.

By the way don't ask me TSB number I don't know them since their invoices are not very detailled on this subject. But I can give you my dealer name in the Montreal Quebec that could fix your problem (sure you need to live in the area). They work a lot on my car so they now know what to look for on 09 Corolla. They say that was their first 09 with such issue.

I have sacrifice myself for you guys

The TSB for the seats is SB0288-08 SEP 08.

I don't see any others for interior noises.

Thanks for the info!

I'd like more info about that. I've been hearing something, but it's very hard to describe and not all that loud. It sounds a little like a speedo cable, but not as loud and I know the car doesn't have a speedo cable anyway. But it's just loud enough to really bug me.

Answers:

John Mo: Can you be more precise about this. Is it a noise heard at highway speed flapping under the car or is it in the dash board ? Can you hear it when riding at city speed or over bumps ? If you want to send a private message on this that would be ok, if I can help I will.

Pwain: I will try to put my hand on this TSB number for the dashboard noise but that may be hard. But they do have something official in their system for sure I saw the official Toyota document, their invoice is not very clear and seems to carry any TSB number. I don't know if this means something to you but on the invoice there is the following code aside each problem. (maybe these are just random numbers IDK)

Dashboard noise: 09TOZ
Seatbelt noise: 19TOZZ01

I will try to gather more information on the subject for the under car noise. The Dealership will ship me the invoice by mail as the director in charge of my file was not avaible when I pickup the car. Good news the noise is gone. If this is not enough I have a friend of mine whose dad is service director in a Toyota Dealer he may be able to help me with finding those numbers. Once I will have all my invoices in hand for thoses problems I will fax them to him so he don't loose his time with his customer and solve their problem right away. I hope in exchange to get the info for you guys.

Lean Burn: I will send this info in Private with some additionnal information if requested. For other members, before asking for the info note that the dealer is in the Montreal Quebec Canada Area.

TheStone11: I did not give a penny for all the work done by them, all covered by the general waranty <36000 miles. They a give me a Yaris for the whole lenght of the repair (cheap but great little car by the way). Note that I do all my maintenance over there, but the car was not bought there (I had a very bad service at my original dealership). So I don't know if they would give a car if not a regular customer. I don't know the rule at this level.

Have a good day. My car is now silencious after 12000 miles of pure hell !!!! I am now in heaven and I can finally enjoy driving this car for the first time.

No TSB I think for this dashboard thing but they do have this in the troubleshooting section in their informatic system. I saw the document, but did not have time to check any number on the document I was so happy that they found what it is. So the best thing is to ask your dealer check in their system. Maybe there is not enough car coming in for that issue so no TSB is issue. It must work on the same pattern as recalls.
