Pioneer AVH-P41000 installed in my Rolla

I am the first in my country(Lebanon) to install this Head Unit from Pioneer,it bought the day they released it!!
My driving pleasure is now 100x better
I have set the color of the buttons red instead of orange because I hate orange

The USB menu here with my Samsung P2

The Ipod menu (Ipod Touch here) connected with the white USB cable from Apple and not the one Pioneer try to sell for 50$

Oupss sorry it's 4100 not 41000!!!

I am don't know for sure but i think he is talking about the white USB cable that you use to connect your I-Pod to your computer.

Yes it's the simple white USB cable you get free with the Ipod when you buy it!!
I was thinking it would take it as mass storage like any other USB memory but I was very happy to see you can access the music and videos of the ipod with the classic white cable! The main advantage over other USB mp3 players(like my P2) is that you can select songs per artist,year,album,genre...With the Samsung P2 I have to re-arrange all the songs per folders(on PC) or I get lost with hundreds of songs because the Pioneer doesn't organize them like for the ipod

How is the fit of the mounting kit? Are there any gaps or does it stick out at all and does the color match well to the factory dash?

The dude who installed it had to modify a mounting kit he had (cutting it a little) then enlarging the bolt holes of the mounting brackets(metal) so it can fit perfectly,he took from me 80$!!!!
But the result is perfect

@vegetableb,

At present, I have the AVH-P4000DVD stereo, and I know that you can select either USB OR iPOD from the source menu.

In reviewing the usual manual for hte AVH-P41000DVD, it seems I can only select one of these. If I upgrade to this model, will loose the ability to select USB as a media type once I connect the iPOD cable that Pioneer is selling?

Do you mean you want to plug 1 USB device on the USB + the ipod on the specific ipod port?
All I know is that it's a shared menu for USB/Ipod,when I roll between the sources the choices are: Radio - DVD/CD - Ipod/USB - AUX
I was planning to buy a USB hub (1 USB port to 2 USB ports cable) but I think the HU will only see the first channeld device

That was the arrangement, I had one port for the iPod and another port for the USB device, and I could choose them as individual channels.

But now, for what you're telling me, it seems that both iPod and USB are on the same channel, and if i plug up my iPod, I won't be able to use my USB stick.

Is that the case?
