Hey all, I posted in the "I'm new here" forum but I also wanted to add a few pics of my new Corolla. More pics to come when the weather isn't as crappy...
Bad pic (took it from my phone) but I just got the windows tinted yesterday. I installed a deck too but I havent taken any pics yet, it's the Alpine iDA-X100 with an iPod nano attached.
I was driving an 07 Mazda 3 but I got sick of the manual locks and windows. It happens that my dad works for Toyota, so I basically got the Corolla at dealer cost, and I was still eligible for the 4.9 financing, so it was a pretty easy decision to go with it.
Now that I've driven it for a week, I've noticed that the Corolla seems a lot bigger than the 3 was and now I have the power locks and doors, keyless entry and cruise control that I've been missing. (Not to mention that my dad is the service manager at the dealership, so it will be easy to have service done). I wasn't really looking to buy a new car but for almost the same price I was paying for the 3 I could have the Corolla so that's what I did.

What difference do you find between the 3 and Corolla?
Do you have issue with the steering? Driving, Ride, built quality, design, economy, ......?
cabur, I am working on some notes about the differences between the two vehicles and I will post it up once it's complete. I'm trying to make it as detailed as I can, so look forward to that in the next few days.
I liked how this deck was able to interact with my iPod. It's got the big turn wheel on the display that makes it easy to scroll through artists / albums / playlists etc and the display is really nice. I don't listen to CD's anymore so I was more concerned with the ability to navigate through the iPod menus. Granted, there may be others that perform equally as well (or better) but after using this I am more than happy with it's functionality & cost.
Welcome to TN!!! It's a pretty cool site, very friendly

Can you post a picture of your complete dash with your new Alpine.
Did you get a complete installation kit for the install. Also price. source and how difficult is it to install.
I like the tray below the radio. It'll give me a way to mount my aftermarket GPS.
The deck I got for $245+tax at the Best Buy by my house, dash kit & harness $30 from eBay.
Total install time was about an hour and a half, including all the harness wiring.
