What about a 50% half/half or maybe option, because I love everything about the corolla except its weak acceleration and responsiveness.

my 09 corolla will be 1 year old on May 8th this year and the only problem so far is the static radio reception on some FM channels. other than that the car is so fine. i just love my 09 corolla.

I am loving it. I think the power of the engine is not bad...let's not forget it is a economy car with a 1.8 engine in it. Compare to my old mazda, which is a 2.0L engine, I think my toyota's engine performs better.

Other than cheap-looking Toyota's signature interior plastic I love everything in 2009 Corolla S. I, and my wife as well, do not care much about acceleration and its engine performance. It is one of our family daily rider, and not a sport car for racing utilization.

If you bought the Corolla hoping for a car to race in, you're probably not going to be too impressed. If you bought it for its reliability and efficiency as a car to get you around, you're probably going to like it a lot more. It would be nice if the AT in the non-XRSes came with 5 instead of 4 ratios, as the engine runs a bit faster and as a result gets a bit louder at highway speeds. The engine is especially made more audible due to the low wind noise of the car (a plus by itself though). Overall, I love it.

I got the corolla for just crusing and city driving purpose, works really well. JBL speakers blasting 440 watts=crazy!! moonroof opened on a sunny day makes me happy. the only problem i see is that its a "corolla". people would ask oh what car you drive? and i would say corolla. then they aren't as impressed. =(

I wonder what those “people” drive and what their age group is?
If I’m happy with my car than I do not care what other people saying and what their impression about my car is. You bought this car for yourself, so be happy and enjoy.

I didn't expect it to be a race car when i bought the S......lol, thats just stupid. You cant test drive it in alot of the normal driving conditions and thus, i later realized its lack of power might be an issue, especially when carrying people and going up hill.

yah, i kinda agree with the negative impression people get of the corolla. Just point out its feature strengths, its actually DRIVEABLE, FUEL EFFICIENT, QUIET, COMFORTABLE and ultra reliable. What that means is that its a car you can actually USE (at least for non millionaires) as opposed to being shown off and just stared at.

not yet in love with the XRS...might take awhile. I had my RAV4 for almost 13 years before I had to sell it. Love the features, but the driving element isn't there. Next car I might get may not be a Toyota, since they don't make anything exciting within my budget.

I've been in love with the Corolla S since November, and I had not even driven one yet. The car in general has a sporty look, which is what I was looking for, but also has everything I need, including four doors. I couldn't be happier. For a woman it's odd for me to be "in love" with my car, but it's true. I spend so much time making sure it looks good you'd swear I was more of a chick then I actually am.... Overall, the car, is amazing, I could not be happier and I most definantly am in love with it

I'm 26 years old. I bought a 2009 Toyota Corolla XRS in October. So far I really like my car. Some of things I love is the 2.4L engine its got a lot of torque coming from owning Honda's the torque is something I really enjoy.

Going quick on ramps its kinda of disappointing its def not as sporty suspension as I would have hoped the XRS has some sort of sway bar under the hood I don't think it does to much personally.

One thing that I've even thought about going into the dealer for but I'm sure they would just shush me out of there. Is the driver and passenger doors you can see the clips that hold the door in threw the plastic on the door. this is just a visual aspect of the car that makes it look "not finished" thats disappointing. (its like 4 or 5 bumps in the door that run hormonally above the handle.)

I don't like how the button that opens the doors is not lit up when its dark it be nice to quickly look down and hit the button when my friends are getting in the back seat seems no brainier for Toyota to put a led in that button.

The $1300 GPS def the biggest mistake the navigation this thing is junk the only thing i like about it is i can log maintenance on it. The speakers are OK but nothing great . (would like to replace the speakers)

The things I love is the simpleness of the car it should last long I like the 5 speed manual.

I wish the paint was stronger too its seems kinda of delicate but this is my first new car maybe thats how new cars are now of days.

If i was in the market again I would check out the Ford Fusion that car has a lot of nice features I really think American cars might be steeping up to the plate. don't mean to hate on the car I just paid a decent amount over 20K for but they always say you hear about the negative things a lot more then positive. I am happy my biggest HOPE is that the resale value this 2009 XRS is half way decent if i go to sell the car in a 5 to 10 years.

On a scale of 0-10, I give it an 8. Now, if they would move that clock/temp location to the radio, and fix the 2700-2900 rpm vibration on accelaration, and reduce the power steering assist a little, then it would get a 10.
