Canada Stock Windshield Wipers

Starting this past week, my driver side wiper is starting to leave a streak. I'm very anal when it comes to my windshield visibility, so I'm considering changing my stock wipers and putting on Rain-X ones.

Did you guys change yours? If so, what did you change it to?

I did change my wipers but only when winter set in so that my stock wipers wouldn't get destroyed. I actually put on the rainx frameless wipers for the winter. I didn't find any improvement over the stock wipers and, actually, the rainx wipers don't cover quite as much of the windshield as the stock wipers do. As well, the rainx wipers don't look very good compared to the stock, IMHO. They look much bulkier

If I were you, I would keep the stock wipers and replace the blade refills. You can buy these refills from your dealer. Again, keeping the stock wipers will probably look better and you will most likely save some $$ going this route.

Also, I find the rainx washer fluid quite good and it saves you from having to apply the stuff manually.

I don't have any issues so far with my wipers or blades.

I like the stock wipers. I change the inserts every 4-5 months or so.

There are many reasons why your wiper blades will start to streak. It can be age, or if some ice or dirt gets under the blades and damages the rubber.
It it is just surface grit you can wipe it off with some degreaser. The degreaser will also work well to remove road oils from the windsheild. If you want better wiper blades I suggest some aftermarket neoprene blades. They last longer than the stock rubber. Plain rubber degrades with the weathere extremes of hot and cold and when they are exposed to UV light from the sun. I have not worn out the original wiper blades on my car yet, but the Rain-ex blades worked well on my last car. It is better and cheaper to go with the aftermarket Rain-ex blades that last longer and work better than to go with the OEM plain rubber blades.

I just changed my inserts in March - hoping that it would improve wiper coverage on the passenger side (seems to miss a spot mid-way through each pass). Alas no impact.

Will have to get that fixed under warranty I guess.

I have no issues with the stock windshield wipers. Work well enough for me.

Where did you buy the inserts from. I looked in Canadian Tire and they have 3 sizes. Staff is no help.
