Hit and Run =(

My car got hit about a week ago and i wanna know if any of my corolla hommies know how to remove this big of a dent without taking it anywhere and spending a load of money....

That sucks dude. Dent removal is a lot harder to do when the metal is creased. It is creased and dented in multiple directions too, one of the more weird dents I have seen. IMO, without the proper tools it will be pretty hard to get satisfactory results on your own.

Get an estimate at a shop, it will give you a better idea of what kind of costs you are looking at.

See if you have a Dent Pro in the area, they took a crease out of the side of my door. They did an excellent job.

with dents and crease like that... do they put putty filler, sand it down and repaint it?

i dont really think so. at least not for my dent. only when its alot more worse. i think.

there's a neighbor in my street that has an altima and got a hit and run on that same door too. i think he got it fixed and looks like new. if you want i can ask him where he got it fixed from when i see him around. i'm in los angeles too.

It will cost a pretty penny, looking at that dent. Your rates shouldn't skyrocket for making a claim on a hit and run. Then again, since you waited so long to make it, you might be s-o-l.

Looks like it was something fairly high up that hit you. Truck or SUV. Maybe go ahead and get the cops involved.

i'd also consider contacting any local wrecking yards to see if there have been any scrapped corolla's with the rear driver's side door in your color. It's unlikely, but it may be worth a shot Since repairing it may cost the same as getting a new door from the wreckers.

Nope it was Paintless dent removal.

There's plenty of ways to fix something like that that don't require bondo/filler/etc. From the easy PDR, to replacing it with an entirely "new" door, or even just the door skin.

Take an afternoon and go to some reputable shops and see what kind of costs you are looking at.

OKay try this: (videos are included so you could see)

1, Heat the dent up with a hair dryer (gas will expand and it might just pop itself back out)..leave the door in the sun for a while (we are having a heat wave right now so keep it in direct contact with the sun - the gass expands and it might just pop out). The add CO2 (it works on dents that are fairly big) Once you finish heating the surface you spray on the CO2; voila creases go away. This doesnt damage paint. - - - dont forget to hold the CO2 can UPSIDEDOWN!!!! AND once you clean the surface you should use some polishing compound and wax to throughly clean the surface!

2. Use one of those "tv promotional" dent removers. It uses suctiong cups ont he side to anchor itself to the door and basically pulls out the dent.

Looking at the size of the dent, let the professional dent remover's fix it. There are certain diy methods of removing small dents which may not good because it could damage the paint and besides it's only good for small dents!!!!
