Canada Noobie needs some help!

Hey everyone,
Glad to finally join this forum. I'm not a Toyota owner yet, but I plan on buying a 2010 Corolla Sport within the next month. Only thing i'm wondering now is what mods can I do to it? I know very little about cars and am interested in getting my car tinted and maybe new rims for now... nothing too serious yet until i learn more about my car.

also, i'm located in mississauga, ontario, and was wondering if any of you have personal experiences with dealers around me for the best pricing. i'm waiting for the meadowvale toyota to be opened up but i don't know what kind of deals they will offer when they open up in a few weeks.

any help is appreciated and thanks in advance!!

As for engine mods to the 1.8l corolla (yes thats the S) the only mods i can think about are exhaust and intake. Now if you get the XRS it has way more engine mods because that engine has been out for a while. But other than that you can do exterior and interior mods...

there's very little available from aftermarket, as you may be able to tell by the way everyone instantly poops themselves for anything with an LED or Altis on it.

alright sounds good... how much do exhaust and intake mods usually cost? sorry i'm asking these questions but i literally know nothing about cars and am hoping to learn on this one. do you happen to know any good rim companies? i'm thinking i'll get tint done through the dealership if i can get it thrown in, but i think the first part may be rims. don't wanna go too flashy, but don't wanna look cheap.

thanks again dude

DONT GET YOUR WINDOWS TINTED THRU THE DEALER!!! Sorry for the caps but I have to stress it. there are quite a few people on here that can tell you horror stories of how bad the tint is from the dealer. There is a place in Richmond Hill called Audio Heaven that does it for $199 + tax! They do a FANTASTIC job. I got mine done about a month ago and it's awesome. They are very very friendly and are one of the places that a lot of people on this forum have gone to.

As for dealers, I don't know any, I went to Milton, (don't go there I advise you lol), I remember going into the toyota dealer by Sherway, they seemed nice but I never got any quotes or anything, that was just when I was looking around before I choose Toyota.

I agree with the DON'T GET YOUR WINDOWS TINTED AT THE DEALER

I had mine back 4 times and finally told them to let me take it where I wanted, have it stripped and done correctly or I was filing a grievence with Toyota.

You were one of the ones I remember hearing the story from, sucks but at least they let you take it where you wanted

i got my tints done from the dealer, so far they've been good. i guess it depends on the dealership. they subcontract someone else to come and do the tints. i got mine as part of the deal, so they did it for free.

yes it really depends on who the dealer contracted to do the tints. my friend's matrix had her tints done at the dealer a year ago and they are still good. its all in the material used and the workmanship.
