someone here was running 18x9 with a +35 offset, so I'm sure it can do 18x8.5

Yup it works.

My wheels are 18 x 8.5 with a 35 offset no rubbing.

if you want a more flush look I would suggest going 9" wide.

Or go +30 with the 8.5" width.

I was actually curious about this, now I don't have to make a thread about it. What width tire would that allow for? Is a +35 offset about the lowest you'd want to go? I assume a +42 offset wouldn't work with that width of wheel.

the 9 inch wide flush look is so beautiful. to Cizzyfunk, you said you got 18 x 8.5 with a +35 offset. is your corolla lowered? if it is, by how much did you lower it? thanks.

watch your fenders, you may need to roll them for a bit extra clearance.

A +42 with an 8.5" width might work, however the wheels will be really sunken in and there may be a slight chance of rubbing on the inside of the wheel well.

As for tire size the recommended tire size would be 225/40/R18. Toyota actually recommends this tire size with the 18" TRD wheels.

I'm lowered on 9th Gen S.Techs so that drastically lowered my 10th Gen...and being that low and with that wheel set-up I'm not rubbing at all. I even tested this with a passenger and 3 people in the back of my car and I got nothing but clearance.

True, totally depends on tire size and offset.
If you rock the right tire size and offset you shouldn't even have to hack your fenders so the wheels can clear.

Also I noticed that the 10th Gen Corollas have got way more clearance than the 5th Gen Camrys...

I actually have an 05 Camry SE V6 (lowered 3.5" on S.Techs as well) and the 19s that are on that car rub like crazy...but at this point that's immaterial to me cause the car looks hot LOL! (I'm pretty sure it's rubbing because of the low offset but meh)

Do a search.

Cizzyfunk posted a thread with pics of his new setup here not too long ago.

pictures of my wack corolla can be found here:

It took a while but here they are finally (56K warning)

I'll let you know right now to go with the recommended tire size if you're gonna rock 18x8.5 unless you're really low.
