Raccoon killer how much you think this will set me back?
OK so last night i was driving back home from my girl friends house and it was about 4AM doing 50mph on this road called Kingrey HWY/ Route 83. When a Raccoon ran out of no wear I slammed on my breaks. But it was to late i herd this load THUD at 1st I felt bad that I killed a Raccoon. I hit him going at least 25 to 30. Then i pulled into the gas station to see if anything was broken and YUP the lower part of my bumper is cracked. Then I was Mad
I barely slept thinking great now i have to replace the bumper...
you just need some bumper plastic glue and you can do that your self and make it bairly noticable but if you really car you can get the whole bumper fixed and repainted for I would say 300 for a decent job not that shit ass thin toyota paint
Mine was broken in the same place, the result of hitting a snow bank this past winter. I'm fixed it myself, it's as good as new. You'll need bumper repair materials and "how to" instructions.
My advice would be to check 3M's web site, as well as SEM Products; both have videos that show step by step how to fix the crack. Also do a Google search, there's good information available.
PM me if you have any specific questions about the procedure.
Toyota quoted me $270 CDN plus tax for an unpainted bumper. Add another $300 or so to get it painted.
That's why I decided to fix it myself; plus I find the bumper to be flimsy, so the odds of smacking and cracking it again are high. I'd be pretty depressed if a broke a second bumper.
And people think i'm crazy for swerving out of the way for small animals... That is why I avoid everything possible. I've hit a jumping squirrel who broke through my headlight housing before (not on my XRS). The body was still in there when I got home.
But that sucks about the Coonage. You could easily do some custom fiberglass patch work on it, and then buy your matching paint... it would re-enforce it and look better then cracked. it would only run you about $50-75 for supplies...

I must be one sick mofo to find that funny. Not the damage part...just the thought of a treerat with it's head being BBQ'd in the headlight assembly & tail flapping in the wind.

It's funny now that I look back on it... but at the time I almost threw up. Total Carnage + BBQ. Nasty little buggers, but at least he wasn't still alive when i finally got out to look for him. That woulda been worse.
i wouldn't risk my life by swerving to avoid an animal...though a moose is a different story.
I dunno... I don't care about saving the animal, but i do care about saving my car. My wife hit a skunk and it took her muffler out...
My Motto is... if the road is clear swerve away... otherwise slamm the brakes if you got room behind you... and if you got a tail gater and on coming traffic lay on the HORN to scare the litte speed bump into the other lane.
