I test drove a new Corolla 2009 today and I loved it. The sales manager at the dealership gave me a discounted price of $15,500 plus TT&L. Is $15,500 a good deal? Can this car be bought for less? Thanks.
is this from one dealership? Since you're in Dallas, I'd say it pays to shop around...give all the Toyota dealers in the Metroplex an email and see if they'll go lower.
difference? think of the 2009 corolla as a cough syrup bottle which has been on the shelf of a drugstore for 1 year now. do you get idea? for me i would buy something that is newly manufactured. not a 1 year old item that they are selling for the same price a year ago. if you are going to spend, spend right. just my suggestion.
Just as an FYI, I recently (beginning of April) purchased an S for $15,200. Probably not the absolute best deal, but about average. This was all before TT&L. This was after the $1,750 rebate that Toyota is still offering though. This was also in the Northern VA area if that matters.
You can definitely get a better deal than $15.5k for an 2009 LE, in my opinion.
What do you guys think about this? I was getting the same $17,026 from the dealer here--and that was *after* taxes, and college grad rebate... Of course, I walked away, he wouldn't budge except for another $500 unless I signed.

Depends on where "here" is.
Some parts of the country are more depressed than others.
I know the Chevy Dealers here in Tulsa,OK aren't coming down hardly anything on pickups.
I got a quote at 15,500 OTD for LE, so you could push them a little bit harder.
I'm trying to get a S for similar price, but they gave me 16,500 OTD and are not budging.
I got a brand-new 2009 Corolla S with automatic, aluminum wheels, and spoilers last October for $16,200 + tax and doc fees. You can certainly do better than that nowadays.
