I was thinking of getting the Grade "V", 2.0 A/T model
thanks,
Chris
i am unsure about the laws on importing present year model cars from other countries. all i can say is that you got to have the right connections and a lot of money to import an 09 corolla altis from asia.
Sure it's possible to bring over here, but why import a Corolla? I can understand importing JDM cars like Skylines, but why bring a vehicle that's not that much different than the one in Canada/US? You're better off just importing parts of the car and doing a conversion if that's the way you want to go.
Isn't there's an import rule that vehicles outside North America must be at least 15 years old?
i had heard 20 years old from a local shop, we where talking about importing skylines not Corolla's lol!!

Skyline's or other type of sports car is not my thing. I am more into/like family 4 door sedans from compact size like to Corolla or Yaris or Civic to Mid/full - size car like the Camry or Avalon.
But if I were to get a skyline I would like to get the ALSI-1/2 (Prince Skyline) which were made from 1957-1963 in black or the R34 Skyline which is made from 1998 - 2002 ... the GT-R in Blue.
The reason I like the Corolla from the Philippines because of the dash light designs and a few options i notices that here doesn't have other than engine size.
I am not sure if it's available here but I have seen that in asia that the there are digital HVAC display of temperature, wooden steering wheel, leather seats and signal lights on side view mirrors. ... these are some things i have notice that i like but not sure if it's available here.
I like the 2 engine options 2.0L and 1.6L compare to here in North America.

More than likely, aside from the engine options, you could find all those above parts on ebay or a website similar. The engine types, you are incorrect, north America does have two types of engines.... 1.8L and 2.4L, to be that would be better than 2.0 and 1.6L but that's JMO..... u most def would be able to get the signal lights on the side view mirrors as there are several other types of vehicles in north america that have this option, if you know how to install it, you could easily do it!

Or if you really have all that money burning in your pocket. You could take a Lotus Elise supercharged engine and drop it into the Corolla since they are basically (Yes yes I know with a few mods) the same engine you should be able to modify it to your needs

Better yet, just buy a Lotus Elise...the chassis and suspension are already awesome. There aren't that many out there to begin with...unlike Hondas.
