I bought my 2009 silver Corolla LE about 10 months ago. Lately, I found many tiny brown rust spots on front floors (immediately below bottom of front doors) and some rust spots on top of car hood.
I cannot rub them off with a cloth.
It appears the car warranty only covers rust perforation only?!
just curious... who else have you asked about this rust spots? have you asked your dealer yet?
Another reason to close the forum down. Rather than discuss something in a community and share out experiences we can just call the dealer and get the truth about how ours is the only car in history to ever have (insert situation here) happen to a car
I drive a white 09 corolla, i have the same problem.. Most of the tiny rust spots are all the front two doors near teh wheel well. I know my is cause by break dust, i just went to my local canadian tire and bought mother's clay bar kit. clean area, spray mothers, apply by rubbin on the clay bar, wipe clean.. rust spots are now gone..

rust problems on a new car can only be resolved by the dealer and not anybody on a forum. if the car of the original posters really developed rust at this early stage then his last resort is to go back to his dealer and complain.

you should be glad that what you had on your car were not rusts. once the rust had contaminated the paint only a repaint (plus bodywork) can bring back the original state.
These rust spots (more evident on light colors) are usually the results of environmental contaminants on the paint surface. A good wax/cleaner with some elbow grease should ease your worries.
I used to have this happen on my white Tacoma now and then... looks like little stains in the paint... it only ever seemed to happen after the truck had not been waxed for a little while. go get some high quality wax (i use Mothers Gold 3 step) and that will fix it.

to the original poster... if you can remove the so-called rust spots on your car by using high quality polishes and waxes then you dont have to worry about it. they are not rust. because if they are really rust spots, no amount of waxing can remove them. be glad and do the waxing.
