Screw you VSC!!! DIY (for "track" purposes only)

Here's a quick DIY for disabling the VSC. Normally if you push the little button that turns it off, it will only stay off until you reach 32 MPH or so. Doing this will turn it off no matter how fast you are going. Here's what to do...

1)Pull the E-brake
2)Start the car
3)Push and release the brake twice then push once more and hold the brake
4)While holding the brake pedal, Release the e-brake and pull it twice then pull it once more and leave it engaged
5)Then release the brake and press the brake three times
6)The light on your dash should come on telling you the VSC is turned off
7)Enjoy not having a computer controlling your brakes!

A couple notes:

-The VSC cannot be re-enabled until you turn the car off then back on. Pushing the button will do nothing.

-Again the computer will not control your brakes so make sure you understand that if you brake hard your car will be more prone to sliding/losing control

-I take no responsibility for what you do to your car/if it break/if it cheats on you/nothing okay!

I have a video I'll try to post that was taken with my phone but I'm also doing a video with a camera that I'll post on you-tube just to clear up everything. Enjoy!

Here's the link. Click the view in HQ button if it doesn't work.

you do know that while the car is completely stopped if you hold in the trac/vsc button for 3-4 seconds it disables them both until the next time you start your car regardless of how fast you drive right?

Well I guess if you must do everything the easy way... or if you only want to turn off VSC and leave the other one on.

Yeah this is a little bit different than just pressing the button. Press and release the button turns off Trac until you reach speed and/or you restart the vehicle. Press and hold the button turns off trac and VSC until you restart the vehicle.

From what I saw in your video though, it looks like you were just turning off Trac, not VSC. The VSC light is the one to the left of it that says "VSC OFF" not the one with the sliding car diagram.

So is this just a way to turn Trac off without it coming back on at higher speeds, or does this turn VSC off without turning Trac off?

You could always give it a shot. The button is located next to the power window controls on the left side of the steering wheel.

If you don't have the traction control button, you don't have traction control, so there's nothing to turn off.

So i guess we that don't have it are better of without it. I was always wondering if we had it because the cluster has the lights for it but i always wondered how to disable it. Good thing i dont have it. I would always have it off

you do realize its quite useful in most driving situations only a few small situations where its not such as being stuck in snow or trying to powerslide or something

um it works during evasive maneuvers as well such as trying to avoid a crash or taking a sharp turn at too high of a speed.... instead of skidding out and facing oncoming traffic it'll apply the brakes and help distribute some of the power between the tires...
