? For Those With Lowered Corollas...

I'm lowering my Corolla this week hopefully and I have a quick question. After you lowered your car, did you get your car aligned? I have VSC, so do I need any special alignment? Do I only need to align the front wheels or all 4? In the install guide it states "for vehicles equipped with VSC, take your car to a Toyota dealer to have a zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and test mode inspection". Is all that necessary? If so will toyota do it under warranty or will they screw me up the butt with some outrageous price? Thanks (and I'll post pics when I'm done!!!)

I got my car aligned the same day I lowered it LOL.

If you decide not to get it done at the dealer see if the place you decide to get it aligned can do the zero point calibration and that other stuff...the place where I got it done was able to do it.

expect a high price for those things because almost all dealers and auto shops charge their labor by the hour. or they might do it under warranty if you make the dealer install the springs. try out on your chances. talk to any toyota dealer and find out.

Can anyone provide me with the alignment specs for the 09 Corolla. I found a shop that will do the alignment, they just need the specs. Can anyone help?

Also can anyone tell me what size socket you used for the bolt that hold the lower front shock to the control arm? None of mine seem to be big enough

No offense Nate but if I took a vehicle into a shop and they asked me what the specs are I would take it elsewhere. Best bet if you still want to use the shop is to tell them to get off their lazy butts and call Toyota. Let them do the leg work its what you are paying for.

That's what I started to think after I posted that... I did manage to get the rear springs put on and if I do say so myself, it is like the perfect drop! I just need to get the front ones on now but I don't have the right sized socket for the lower two bolts holding on the strut. 3/4 is the biggest I have and it's bigger than that so... anyone know what size socket I should run to the store and buy so I can finish?

In general, Toyota uses metric sized nuts and bolts. So your SAE socket set is not going to give you a good fit even if you had a large enough socket. If you can, go to Sears and buy yourself a good Craftsman socket set. They have a lifetime warranty and you will more than likely use them many, many times over your life time. There are other good brands with the lifetime warranty too. I like Sears because they will replace worn or broken Craftsman tools without any hassle.

I have a high quality socket set (both SAE and Metric). I was just saying that my largest socket was 3/4in and it didn't fit so I know I need one bigger. And I would rather buy just one socket than a whole set since I only need the one size and it's a one time use thing. I just need to know the size of the bolt...
