simonize package

I bought this teflon interior and exterior protectant package when i bought my 09 s model two weeks ago. Boy did it pay off. The clear coat is flaking off of the hood in a 50 cent piece size area and there is a rock chip. I paid 300 for the service and it has 5 years of protection. Because of this spot the dealer is having to repaint the hood.I think i got my moneys worth what do you think?

None of us have had that big a chunk of paint missing. Maybe the simonize treatment actually _ucked up the paint.

then why would they offer it???? They are not in the bus to loose money they would like to make it. Granted i bought the stuff but now it cost them 65 dollars more than what i bought the protection for.

I think you wasted your money. The orginal equipment warranty would have covered paint defects.

the factory warranty does cover defects in paint but does not warranty if there is damage to the paint such as from acid rain or something which is what i am assuming the simonize protection package would cover.

although i will say this, in your case you might want to see what caused the damage to the paint, like one of the other posters had said, this is new news to me so you might want to see if this simonize package did more harm than good.

"clear coat is flaking off of the hood in a 50 cent piece size area"

Not your typical acid rain symptom. I am confident this is either paint defect or caused by the simonize treatment itself.

I did notice that the clear coat is thin on the inter door jam areas and that it has several different textures to it across the area of all four doors. Does anyone else have this issue? The package does not cover physical damage like rock chips but staining and ettching are covered. I already had one big rock chip on the hood. I do 70 travel on inter state and 30 city. I have read on here that these rock chips are common.
