Thumbs up exchanged 2009 Corolla "LE" for 2010 Corolla "S" == FUN! see pics

hello folks, I'm new to the forum 1st post and wanted to share my experience. Just exchanged my '09 Corolla LE for a 2010 Corolla "S". The "S" is Ssso much FUN! Highly Recommended!

Overall I think the '09 "LE" is still a great car, very smooth ride, and decent fuel/mileage. However a few shortcomings on the '09 "LE" had me looking for a little more Fun-factor and comfort. The "S" came in to fill that gap quite nicely.

Thing's I'm really enjoying out of the 2010 Corolla "S":
  • steering wheel-mounted audio CD/XM/radio and hands-free controls for Bluetooth is a MUST HAVE i no longer have to change seating positions to reach out and adjust the volume..
  • JBL stereo with 8 speaker system gives decent sound and even fixes a bug found in the 09' LE stock HU which ignored the "random" setting when pressing SEEK button for next song/tune
  • Factory-installed remote keyless entry with trunk release button on the keyfob is nice touch.. on the '09 LE the crappy after-market dealer installed $$$ keyless system did not even include this option to pop the trunk
  • S-package has some nice perks: S seats do feel more "fitted" and firm, halogens lights are fun to use at night, S body moldings and rear spoiler look very nice, the sunroof/moonroof option makes me feel 10 years younger (gasp!)
  • imho.. somehow i think the 2010 "S" handling feels little bit more agile and a bit stiffer.. Does anyone know is there any difference in the suspesion on "LE" versus the "S" package?? maybe is all psychological effect..
  • Also I did not care for this but was nice to have Traction/Stability control come as standard on all 2010 rollas.. we'll see how it works in the winter..
Attached some snap shots of the 2010 Corolla "S", enjoy!!!! (sorry about poor resolution they are from crappy camera phone)

You made a good trade...the JBL/Bluetooth is the must have option for the Corolla. The XM will make you never listen to AM/FM anymore. Enjoy your S.

2010 USA "S" Grade got the upgraded trim and the optitron gauges over the 2009 model. Canadian "S" models did not.

i assume the "fun" you speak of is just a few interior perks? you do realize the S is just a CE in a plastic dress right? drive train is the same...

better wearing a plastic dress than being stark naked.

while i generally agree, i would have paid a little extra for the little bit nicer interior color scheme and gauges in the s. i wanted a manual transmission, but not the body kit, and wasnt willing to pay the extra without some type of actual driving advantage.
