Fender bender

Guys, I am really sad :<
I have this new '09 Toyota Corolla XLE for 2 months now. I got a dent in the back bumper (image linked below). Is it something that I can fix myself by pulling out the bumper out and then hammering from inside? My wife's friend told her that the fiber glass bumper might crack if we try to hammer it ourselves.

its plastic. it won't crack. you can just push it out from behind. now if the plastic was stretched when the dent was put in, there will be at the least stretch marks in the plastic.

It is plastic, polypropelene, actually.

You can push it out, but may want to use a hair dryer to help. Go to Google and search for bumper repair/dent and you'll find all the info you need.

Good luck.

Its plastic, not fiber glass. What do you have to loose now? If I were to do it, I would heat it up with a heat gun fron the inside and try to push it out.

This cost $900 to repair. Bumper, small bracket and paint with labour.BTW The other car was totaled.
