find my trunk open?

A couple three times I've found my trunk cracked on my 09 Corolla I bought last March. I THINK I always slam the trunk (and thus latch it) after opening the thing. ???? Has anyone else had this experience? I found it easy to disconnect the plug on the switch and, for now, it remains unplugged. Not much of an inconvenience as my 2000 didn't have an electric trunk release and I'm not used to it anyway.

Maybe you have something in your trunk that's preventing it from closing or possibly a defective latch.

Well, we'll see, now that I have defeated the electrics. Couple of weeks of it staying closed will mean it's activating accidentally, or someone else close has a near-like signal.

It's probably accidentally being activated by being in your pocket or something.

I've had it happen once since I've had the car, the delay Toyota set is pretty good, I think most GM's have it set a lot quicker before it pops the trunk. I've seen many GM vehicles with their trunk sitting open.

My uncle had it disabled on his Saturn, it popped open way too many times.

Yeah, the door locks........ When the keys are in my pocket and I'm washing the car, the damn things lock and unlock constantly. Pain in the a_ _.

It sounds like your latch is slightly out of alignment. I haven't taken a look but I'm pretty sure these are adjustable.
