I just got in a front end collision and my my car wont start. 5 of the 6 airbags went off. the whole front end is smashed in and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on whether or not it will be totaled. The insurance company has not looked at it yet. Any thoughts?

Take a picture and let us see, no other way to really assess it.
The real question is how much do you owe on it? 10,000 for those airbags plus what ever is left for the body repairs. If this is even close to what you owe on the vehicle chances are they will total it.
If the car won't drive or start, there's a good chance it's totalled. Will it not start because the engine's messed up physically? Or do you think it's because the airbags went off and the ECU is saying 'no' to the engine?
Like mentioned above, it also matters what you owe. Did you have gap insurance?
I had an 02 Echo that had a tree limb go through the windshield while my wife was driving it. It got a new hood, fender, windshield and roof repair. It was about $5,000 in cosmetic repair. If your car was crumpled enough to move the engine and transmission, then I would guess repairs will exceed the car value and be totaled, based on my experience with the Echo. You never know though. Somethimes insurance companies will repair a car if its $500 cheaper than totaling it, which at that point you may prefer to have it totaled and get a new car because you never know if they will get all the car back into alignment like a new car.
a good friend of mine had a similar accident which the insurance company chose to have his car repaired. after which all sorts of problems arised which led him to sell his car at a very cheap price.
Hard to say. We had a new civic that got towed to our shop and they were gonna repair it until they pulled up the salvage value of the car. Sometimes an insurance company will total a car if the total damage is only 50% of a vehicle especially if it has the higher salvage value.
I'm no mechanic - but it looks like it was a pretty hefty hit. Just cosmetics wise, you need a whole new front end more or less - hood, grille, bumper, headlight(s), quarterpanel, etc. The radiator is junk most likely, as are the pipes and stuff that connect it. Probably a decent chance of axle/tierod/related parts damaged. Engine mount might be misaligned. If the engine/tranny aren't aligned that's a huge thing.
Your pictures hint at some major engine damage. If they don't total it you will wish they did
+1
Cosmetically, you are going to be at close to 3500 already (hit a deer and damaged all the same pieces). Once you factor in the airbags, frame supports, and any engine damage, its got to be close to toatled.
How many miles do you have? a rolla with 40kmi and 5 miles are worth different amounts. Sorry to hear all this!
keep your fingers crossed that it is totaled... who wants new car payments for a rebuilt car? most collision repair centers cant get the job done fast enough leaving your car looking like sh*t if you know what to look for.... my old taco was in 2 front end collisions in 10 years, i am sure they have a pic of me over a staff dart board at the local toyota body shop! eveything from panel clearances to imperfections in the paint, aftermarket parts, to a clip for a vac line being out of place would come under fire from me, oh fun times
