I miss my old car so much, after driving my corolla s :[

Here's my story

After a long day of driving around in my 2010 Corolla S, I pull into my driveway to park my car. My old 95 Camry LE is sitting in the way, so I go and grab the keys to move it. After getting the keys, I beeped off the alarm, open the door, and sat in the driver's seat of my old Camry. The first thought that came into my mind was how comfortable it felt to sit in it; it was a very nostalgic feeling. I put the key into my car and turn it for a second. It didn't start. I forgot that you had to hold the key in ignition until the engine turned over. Once the car started, I felt it, every cylinder firing up, the power steering engaging, and the car coming to life. Forgetting that I had to move the car, I pull out of the driveway, turn on the headlights, and go for a midnight drive. I felt so much closer to the ground. I could feel the road- every bump, groove, and rock. I turned around, as I felt how much response was in the steering. to drive back home, but pass my house for miles. I finally pull back into my driveway and turn off the car, somewhat saddened. What was supposed to be a thirty second car moving, became a thirty minute joy ride. I parked my 95 Camry LE under the tree that night, leaving my 2010 Corolla S in the rain.

Wow that was dramatic, hahahah.

How can you miss something you still own?

While I thought a great deal of that gen. Camry in its day, that day has passed.

I know how you feel. I donated my 91 Camry after I bought my Corolla. I miss it. The feel and build quality of new cars is very different.

I feel you...miss my old RAV4 more and more. It gave me a different feeling that the new Corolla doesn't have, and I wish I could have kept it.

There are many reasons why you prefer you old Camry to the new Corolla.

- Power to weight ration. I believe that the Camry came with a 2.4 L 4 cylinder while the Corolla has a 1.8 L engine.

- The gearing on the older cars were set to give you more torque and speed, while the new ones have to squeeze more economy out of a gallon of gas.

- The Camry is a more luxurious car and feels better made because of the attention to detail and materials put into it.

Buy a new Camry if you want that old car feel back.

There is so much inaccurate information in this post that I will not even attempt to correct it.

My parents have a 2007 Camry, you will NOT get the old car feel back with it.

I understand how you feel too. I used to drive my dad's '89 Camry. It was more responsive with the pedals.
