Thanks Guys - But I went back to a Taco...

Hey guys...

I started complaining a few months after I got the Corolla. Unfortunately, it was eating me inside, to the point it was all I thought about. So I traded in the Corolla for another Taco. The loss was minimal, like 500 or so.

Here it is... Thanks for everything.

PICS:

I am a little confused. Why would you buy a compact care when you needed a quad cap pickup?

I'm jealous.

Not of your cost of gas, insurance or payments, but it's a darn nice truck.....I traded a prerunner for my matrix and yearn for a truck again.

Is yours equipped with the PY package? Great option like the Corolla (JBL Stereo/XM Radio/Bluetooth). MGM looks great as well with the Taco!

I usually buy from Newburgh... But DCH had what I wanted in the color I wanted. While Newburgh was gonna have to locate it. If DCH had not given me the deal I wanted I would have gone back to Newburgh. I have bought 2 cars from Mike over at Newburgh.

I got the rolla for 16750 and payed NO taxes on it. Not one cent. I got 15k for the rolla on the trade in + the 1260 i saved in taxes because of the trade in = just 500 or so lost.

NY has something where you only pay taxes on the difference between the trade in and the purchase vehicle. So on a 28k truck I only pay taxes for 14k of it. at 8.14% it adds up.

Lastly only reason I only got 15k., was because of a terrible scratch on the roof.

Was trying to save money and gas. Was gonna buy a trailer for my wifes SUV and use that when I needed the bed... Eventually said F it and went back to what I love. Gotta be happy., if not, its all for what.

If you paid $16,750 for the Corolla and got $15,000 on the trade then you lost $1,750 to switch cars.

Why would you deduct the sales tax that you didn't have to pay in the swap from the loss of trade-in value of the Corolla??

Seems like the trailer would've been cheaper...

You have to count it. Cause had I sold it, I would have had to pay sales tax on the entire truck amount. The + side of trading in, is the tax savings.

As far as the trailer. It's not what I wanted.

yes, by changing cars he lost $1750. he can rationalize it by saying if he had sold it he'd have paid more tax on the truck, but compared to just keeping the corolla, yes, $1750 was lost+extra gas costs+(i assume)higher insurance rates.

but, if it was just eating him up inside....well, what are you gonna do? (outside of therapy...but that costs money, too)
