I started complaining a few months after I got the Corolla. Unfortunately, it was eating me inside, to the point it was all I thought about. So I traded in the Corolla for another Taco. The loss was minimal, like 500 or so.
nice .... so thats two fallen rolla's ...one went with si, second with tacoma....who's falling next ? lol.
another question: how did u only loose 500 or so....u got the v6 with trd sport package which is way more than the rolla....how much did u get for a tradein or did u sell it privately ? just wondering.
Went to DCH huh? Should came over here to Newburgh....coulda hooked ya up!!! LOL Anyway, beautiful truck, good luck with it, any mods planned/
I usually buy from Newburgh... But DCH had what I wanted in the color I wanted. While Newburgh was gonna have to locate it. If DCH had not given me the deal I wanted I would have gone back to Newburgh. I have bought 2 cars from Mike over at Newburgh.

I got the rolla for 16750 and payed NO taxes on it. Not one cent. I got 15k for the rolla on the trade in + the 1260 i saved in taxes because of the trade in = just 500 or so lost.
NY has something where you only pay taxes on the difference between the trade in and the purchase vehicle. So on a 28k truck I only pay taxes for 14k of it. at 8.14% it adds up.
Lastly only reason I only got 15k., was because of a terrible scratch on the roof.
I am a little confused. Why would you buy a compact care when you needed a quad cap pickup?
Was trying to save money and gas. Was gonna buy a trailer for my wifes SUV and use that when I needed the bed... Eventually said F it and went back to what I love. Gotta be happy., if not, its all for what.

If you paid $16,750 for the Corolla and got $15,000 on the trade then you lost $1,750 to switch cars.
Why would you deduct the sales tax that you didn't have to pay in the swap from the loss of trade-in value of the Corolla??

Seems like the trailer would've been cheaper...
yes, by changing cars he lost $1750. he can rationalize it by saying if he had sold it he'd have paid more tax on the truck, but compared to just keeping the corolla, yes, $1750 was lost+extra gas costs+(i assume)higher insurance rates.
but, if it was just eating him up inside....well, what are you gonna do? (outside of therapy...but that costs money, too)
