Canada Getting Ready for Winter

I am just wondering if anybody else has plans to get their car ready for winter. Of course I will be purchasing some new snow tires, but I am wondering about the paint. I declined the 500 dollar anti rust thing the dealer offered that sends a negative charge to the steel (sounds bogus.) Does anybody still get their car oiled underneath? Also, would it be benificial to do a polish/wax type thing before the weather gets too ugly? Would love to hear what others are thinking, I want to keep this car looking good for the years to come!

Krown Rust Control is the best for preventing rust, by a large margin. While those electronic devices work on large ships and industrial equipment, they are less (if at all) effective on cars.

you have good plans. just watch out for the weather reports regularly and that will tell you when to start doing the right measures. a $100-200 undercoating/weather-proofing will last for years. if you have time on your hands now to do the waxing then by all means do it now. being prepared beforehand has always been the way to go.

i already have snow tires and rims that i've got to change next month probably. car's already polished and waxed last month, have all season mats, roadside assitance emergency kit in the trunk with extra blankets etc. i didnt bother with the undercoating cause i dont know how long i am gona keep the car. i instead spend the money on a two way car starter, much more helpful. so i think i am ready for winter. damn winter....already got the cold.

Does our Corolla already have a rustproofing treatment out of the factory ? If yes why care about the rust oil treatment?

The metal is treated from the factory to reduce oxidation compared to previous years, but it is still not treated with a chemical rust prevention. Krown is sprayed under high pressure inside the doors, hood, trunk, etc. through access holes and it reaches almost every little nook and cranny. It's by far the best rust prevention out there.
