k i have another question but its about the shocks after you lower your car on springs your shocks do go out no matter what so im looking for pro damper shock is there any way im able to mix match like from a diffrent car to fit the 09 corolla
shocks will go out no matter what. doesn't matter if its aftermarket springs or factory springs. the thing is lowering spring will more than likely blow the shocks faster than factory springs.
but yea, the 9th gen shocks and struts fit the 10th gen.
i think the best way to go is to leave the shocks in place for now, when they do go out, replace them. wats the point of replacing ur factory shocks rite now when they are perfectly fine. thats what i plan to do when i get my trd lowering springs. another reasoning behind this is, if i dont end up keeping my car after the next 2 or 3 years, i can get by just fine with the trd springs, why put more money than required. and besides, our cars are new, not 5 or 10 years old, and the drop is not that much. (if your going to keep the car for a long time then it makes more sense to replace everything at once to save labour and time).
but yea, the 9th gen shocks and struts fit the 10th gen.
Can this be confirmed by any one? Because I have trying to find this out for awhile (trying to find chassis/part numbers and srpings are same but no luch finding anything about the struts) and people on the Eibach pro kit review thread said that they are not the same. I think I will just go to the dealership tomorrow and find out from the parts counter.
the probably aren't the same exact part but physically they fit. i know of a few people who are running 9th gen suspension parts on their cars...me included.

So what brand shocks are you using? The only one that I can find that is for a lowered spring is a koni yellow for the 9th gen......How has the ride been and have you or the people you know running 9th gen on the 10th had any problems? Thanks for the info!

I've always used Tokico struts and shocks. I've never been disappointed with them and I have them on several of my cars.

I haven't put them on my 09 yet but that is what I will use when I do put the springs on. I have them on my 89 MR2, the 94 Corolla and my 95 Previa. I've also had them on other cars I owned like my 88 Corolla GTS AE92. I'll always use Tokico!

Little secret that you guy may found interesting. I had a pair of TRD rear shock for my AE86 before, and they were made by Tokico. Basically TRD repainted them to their color and put their logo on it, Tokico is their supplier. I am not sure whether it is the case for now....at least for the old days were.
I just installed my TRD springs this weekend & I left the stock struts in it for now. Replacing the springs was so simple that I figured I'd save the money for now & use the stock KYB struts. When they do need replacing I'll replace them with Tokico since I've had such great luck with them in the past.

yeah, oem typically makes nothing, they just get stuff from others and then do final assembly.
but i'm still wondering what model # shocks (tokico or koni) are being used on 10th gen Corolla's ??

My 10th gen Corolla S has KYB as stock. The struts are stamped with KYB, I noticed it when changing my springs.
