Do you like your Dealership?

I keep reading about all of these Dealer Horror stories.
I bought my corolla in Tulsa, OK at Jim Norton Toyota.

I was sitting in the back seat when the salesman was showing my wife how to operate everything and noticed some creases in the headliner.

Took it over to service and they immediately ordered a headliner.

When it came in they gave me a loaner. Got it back and it had creases in the new headliner. Apparently they were putting it in wrong. They found out how to do it correctly from Toyota. The windshield had to come out.
Anyway every time they upgraded me a loaner car at no charge.

My daughter curbed a wheel. They fixed it at no charge.
They screwed the window tint up and gave me a loaner car at no charge.
They just kep leaving bubbles in it and finally let me take it where I wanted and they paid for it.

I get a discount on all work they do. I have rented a pickup from them a couple of times and I get a big discount on it. I get a discount on any aftermarket stuff I buy from them.

they have made some mistakes but the service writer always makes sure they are corrected and I never get charged.d

I hear all these denials and things and it makes me glad I chose the dealership I did.

I don't understand how my dealer can be so professional and so many people have so many problems. I wonder if any of it has to do with how you guys are approaching the Dealership. I am never rude to them and I always tell them how much I appreciate their help.

You are lucky. Most dealerships are not like that. The Toyota dealerships I've dealt with have mostly steered me to a different brand of vehicle due to lousy service after the sale.

The dealership I deal with (Burlington Toyota) seems to be really good so far. I haven't had any problems and everyone I've dealt with has been professional and helpful. I have no complaints so far although I've only been there a few times so far for a regular checkup and a couple of other minor issues fixed.

I bought this corolla as a stop gap measure. Due to my job I have to have a car that is no older than 3 years.
I fully intened to buy either a cadilac CTS or an Infiniti G35 but due to the economy and my reduced income I decided to buy the corolla and when the economy picked up give it to my daughter for college and get the car I wanted. I have had it since March 9th and it will turn 25K this week.

The dealership has a program that will repair any internal engine damage at no charge for as long as you own the car as long as you let them change the oil every 5K.
This is profit for them because the more people they can get to do this vs the failure rate of the engines they make money. Same thing with the tires. Get it aligned every 15K and have them rotated every 5K and they will give you tires for life.

I have 5 other cars and this is the only one I don't do the work on myself. I intend to get 400K out of this car. I have done the math and if nothing goes wrong I will be losing money. The thing that keeps me going back for the service is the fact they are so nice, get me in and out quick and if they have to keep my car they always loan me a camry or a pickup at no charge with unlimited miles.

I am in the market for a new pickup and I have looked at the Toytota but will probably but a chevy.
I have just been impressed with everything.
EVery time I take my car in for even an oil change I get a questionaire about my experience and I praise my service writer. He gets a copy of my email and he does everything he can to make me happy.

One other thing. I read about people kind of going off on the dealership people.
I am a salesman and I have the authority to fix just about anything that goes wrong and make the customer happy. A customer with an attitude is far less like to get what he wants than someone that acts professionally.

Your at the wrong dealership. All dealerships should be like that.

My dealer is awesome! And I am not just saying that because I am a salesman there.

I always read stories on hear about people fighting with dealerships about problems. These problems don't happen at my dealership because we take care of them before delivery and if there is a mistake we fix it. People always talk about dealerships not wanting to honor warranties, this makes not sense. Think about it, Toyota pays big money for warranty work done and they supply the parts. Doesn't that sound pretty good for the dealer? They should be hoping all warranty claims come to them and not other service departments.

If your dealership is not what it should be then switch!!

True enough! If you are "going off" on someone do you think they are going to want to help you or get you out of there! Treat people how you want to be treated.

This ia a good thread.

Name the dealer whether good or bad. Even name the person you dealt with.

My dealer is "Granville Toyota, Fraser Street, Vancouver BC. They have look after me very well. Treated me courteously and promptly. Place is nice and clean. Service writer listens to my problem/questions and consult others when he is not sure of the answer. Totally happy with them.

My dealer is Lemieux Toyota, Green Bay, WI.

I chose them not only because I live less than 2mi from them, but because my parents have a pair of 2007 Toyota SUVs that they get all their work done there, and they love them.

I haven't needed any service as of yet...only have about 520mi on the car so far. However, they have been nothing but helpful and polite for everything so far, and they even programmed my extra key for free, which I am told normally costs around $50. I've also already been told about the all-weather mat recall and had that taken care of already, and I still haven't received my notice from Toyota on that one.

I would say I am very happy with my dealer so far.

You get what you pay for!

I have a really good Toyota dealer in Creve Coeur (St Louis suburb) MO. I have been taking my cars their for service for 22 years and I really have no compliant with them. Their service advisors are excellent and listen to your problem description and make the appropriate service correction. I mostly go there for routine services during the warranty period. My wife takes her 2002 Echo there for oil changes and general checkup as they have oil changes at about the same price as the rapid oil change places.

They also have maintenance service special cupons they send in the mail and e-mail. They also send a quality check feedback survey to make sure they are treating the customers right.

I can go to cheaper places but I know my Toyota dealer will do the job right. My wife took our Buick to a Firestone dealer when I was out of town because of a coolant problem. I figured it was a head gasket. They replaced everything but the head gasket for $800 (i.e. hoses, water pump coolant, belts and other crap. My wife drove it the next day and hobbled home with the engine knocking severely enough I could tell the bearings were shot. We got some of the money back from Firestone but were stuck with a bad engine. I sold it for $500 to a young kid who knew how to fix it and I was out about $3000 because of inept Firestone mechanics.

The Toyota dealer would have done it right, so a few bucks more is worth it in the long run.

my dealer is OpenRoad Toyota in Richmond, BC. out of 10 instances the only thing they did right is 2 oil changes and the brake recall fix. the problem is my wife doesnt want to bring the corolla to other Toyota dealerships. she insists on bringing it everytime to the selling dealership.
