Can't blame the guy. Nobody told him he'd wind up on the AARP mailing list and start getting incontinence diaper samples in the mail. No amount of 'S' badging will prevent this and the dealers should be more forthcoming about it.

What the hell are you talking about?
Did you guys not know that it had 132 hp before you bought it?
Did the 15 thousand dollar price range make you think you were gonna get 287 ponies ,lsd and all the strippers you could jam in the back seat?
Do people not test drive a car before they buy it????? When I drove the 09 Corolla S I liked the smooth, quiet ride and I thought that it had good power for what it is. It won't win any races but it is not designed to do so. When I wanted it to get up and go it got up and went just fine, at least the 5-speed did. I didn't drive an auto as I don't think small engined automatics are very responsive. To trade in a car so soon after purchase is just throwing a lot of money away. Talk about buying a car blind.
There are some improvements I would make but what the car delivers for the money is excellent. More power can always be had along with most other upgrades. To each his own though, I love my 2009 Corolla S 5-speed.

I think last year when gas peaked at over $4 a gallon, people would have driven a bath tub on wheels to get better than 35mpg. Now that its back down, people are realizing they bought a vehicle they didn't like.
However trading a corolla for a civic is just a different shade of gray imo.
For the price of an SI, you could pickup something better indeed....Used mazdaspeed 3, used Golf GTI, used sentra SE-R Spec V.
197hp sounds good for the SI but look into the torque number and the rpm that hp comes into play....you will be so disappointed....it is just not practical for everyday driving. Remember high rpm=more gas.
